Hey guys, I'm inquiring to anyone who has any knowledge of a 71 240z and how much it would be worth. I'm currently looking in the market for one, and may have found my match. The car is in very good condition, I'll tell you all a little bit about it. The dash was just replaced, looks clean, the owner put in a new distrubtor and firing cables, has spare steering wheel, and headlight buckets, clean wheels, original paint *will need to be redone* needs u joint replacement, throttle is touchy, 5 speed tranny is rad and super tight, all lights work, no body damage, no rust, ac was removed, clean clean interior and around 140k mi? I dont know how many times the od has turned ov…

Until yesterday, I took a rather mundane and easy approach to cleaning my Z - wash and if I had time, wax with regular car care products, i.e. Turtle Wax products or whatever I had laying around. I decided it was time to do my car some justice and give it the royal treatment, so I invested in a Mother's car care system - wash, pre-wax cleaner, clay bar and speed shine, glaze and sealer, and carnuba wax. My neighbor had suggested using Griott's, but their stuff is too expensive for my budget. That said, I still spent about $60 on Mother's stuff. I undertook this task yesterday morning, and finished 11 hours later. I was completely worn out and my arms still ache, but dam…

I would like to buy a compression tester. What should I look for in a tester? Are there a couple of brands that are better than others? Where is a good place to buy one? What is the thread pitch and size for the spark plug hole? Send along any other info that you would think helpful. I have seen it done a couple of times, but did not get a good look at the tools. TIA, Marty

I have decided to grab what I can off my 260 2+2 and scrap the shell (which is pretty damaged anyway). Apart from the obvious - body panels, windscreen, seats, engine, box - can anyone suggest anything else I might want to salvage to sell off. This has to be done quickly ie within one day so I can free up the storage space to put the 260 project car into long term storage (unless you still want it James).

Went to the office for a couple of minutes this morning. Came out, got in, started normally. About a mile down the road, going up a grade, everything died, sputtering, nursed it along until I could safely get it over to the side. Fuel filter almost empty. No more fuel being pulled in. Looks like another short downtime. Oh. I didn't mention that this was in a driving rain storm. Great Saturday Morning.

Well not only am i still in pain after the accident (not as bad though)..but i have begun stripping my beloved 240z. It hurt Taking off a working original power attenna that i never pictured taking off. I peel off that broken paint and takeing off interior panels finding no rust underneath!! The car was solid aside from the floor pans but every where else it is clean. Ther were concern of rust behind the seats, but after I took out the seats Solid and painted no rust. I had a solid car and now it is smashed I am very sad. Well I guess my 78 is getting the diamond hatch interior so it could at least have some 240z appeal.

I'm sitting here listening to Led Zepplin and man... this stuff sure does rock. It's been awhile since I've gone through my MP3 collection -- currently 10GB. Just love the song, "You shook me".... Makes me want to get out on the road and cruise in the sunshine! Anyone else have favorite driving music?
