I'm really into this show on Discovery Channel called "Monster Garage"... looks like a totally fun operation! So, who's going to donate a Zcar to the process? I'd love to see these guys rip apart a classic Z and turn it into something sweet. Any ideas about what we should do to it?

So I got myself a nice brake master cylinder for my '73 and put it in... only now I'm dealing with the problem of a leaky screw on the brake line leading from the master cylinder's rear brake reservoir to the dual circuit pressure differential. Two questions: What is this called? I haven't seen it mentioned in any of the manuals thus far. And two, does anyone know where I can get a replacement part? I'm stuck in a dead-end town with no way to get to a nice junkyard or anything, so the internet's one of my only options. Thanks a lot guys, as always.

I just received a post card from a cousin, seems I have a second cousin(her son) who is undertaking a hike this summer on the Appalachian Trail. He recently started out on his summer long journey, and his girlfriend has started a web-site to track his progress with pics and descriptions of his adventure. So, if any of you are into nature walks and the like, here a link to his site. If you wish, you can leave him a message on the site and give him some encouragement. It ought to be a shock to him if he starts getting words of encouragement from all over the world. :devious: You can use the contact on his web-site if you would like to send him an "atta-boy" and tell him …

I was curious as to which early Z makes the 'best' daily driver and weekend warrior. I'm still shopping for the perfect car, and knowing this would give me more direction in my search. Currently, I'm infatuated with the one and only 240, as a car nut and intermediate mechanic I'm familiar with all the systems on the car; aka carburetors and mechanical systems. The 260 and 280 both keep the general body style though, and although I don't know much about EFI, I could learn if I needed to; I'm not a big fan of electronics. Since all these models are available pre '78 (the magic historic plate cutoff in AZ) they are all within my 'smog excempt' window of 25 years (AZ listers …

I was told that if you leave the engine running while the cleaning is being done, I shouldnt experience any problems? I have EFI installed in the car, which may not help matters... What are your views/experiences? Should I go for it or do I have to painstakingly use a damp sponge and do a bit at a time :sleepy: Also, what is exactly steam cleaning, a local car wash firm near me say they do steam cleaning. When i watched someone elses car being done, it seemed as if it ws just the jet hose .. no different to the jet house they use to wash the exterior of the car... I was hoping to see steam Thanks

For those with non-hardened valve seats in their 240z's running lead additives, did you know we are prohibited driving on highways? http://www.epa.gov/docs/EPA-AIR/1996/February/Day-02/pr-1326.html I just bought a can of lead substitues for my E88 head and it cost a little over $3 bucks/can. Not only this is a hassel but additional expense every fill-up. Is it possible to replace hardened valve seats into the E88 or is it better to upgrade to later heads like N42, N47 etc.? Also, where can I find cheaper lead additives for about a dollar/can? -Guycali
