Did the 280zx come out a turbo version in japan, i've been looking at the auctions in japan lately, and i hardly see a 280zx, let alone a 280zx turbo version, as these would end up to be pretty cheap to import to australia i think, as it would be under the 15+ import rule, but i think i read somewhere that the turbo version was a US spec only, not sure about it, i know someone here would know

I'm gonna use a pair of 240sx seats in my car. the thing is the upholstery needs to be redone. Does this seem like something any normal person could do or should I have it done professionaly?

This is not "necessarily" to rub it in--but kinda...... A 280Z won BEST OF SHOW at the MSA show Sunday. It was an UNBELIEVABLE car from Florida. The owner had put in an incredible ammount of time and effort and it showed. Greg Smith indicated--as he announced it--there has never been such a unanimous vote for best of show. Oh, and it was in the '280Z-Modified' catagory, too. Definitely not a stock offering. Perfect, clean lines with tasteful body appointments. Paint flawless and EVERYWHERE--had to have been a body-off. The roll bar matched, the mirrors matched, the guy's sunglasses matched--everything was the same incredible flake deep red. Engine bay was immacul…

to bad it was on a 92 chevy camaro z28 hehe. seems though that well i dont know if its just my car, or the way that the ZXT is but taking off was rather slow with the redline coming quick. 2nd was really good and i pulled right on him and third was just WOW!! left him in the dust eating fuel enrichened exhaust. for some reason though i dont see why people say they are slow, and why persons would say that the T5 is a sloppy shifter with the gears being hard to find. ive found the the tranny shifts incredibly smoothe, a little notchy between the gears like say a ferrari or the like but i like that. that trans is nice and tight i like them. i now also know what 13# of boost…

Saturday night, a few friends and I went to the local drag strip (Speed world, Az) because we caught wind of an import -vs- domestic competition. It was kind of sad really. Neither side was very well represented. The only imports that showed were the typical Honda garbage and a few WRx's. They only managed to muster up 16-14 second runs. the domestics were just as slow. There were a few impressive runs like the SVO mustang (2.3ltr turbo) that ran a mid 10 and a '68 Charger that ran a respectable 13 without as much as a chirp from the tires or a rumble from the exhaust. I cant wait till I am done with my 240.....

I'm no car audio guy...so this is probably a stupid questions, but what size are the stock rear speakers? I just got done tearing my dash apart, removed the old stereo and prepped some of the connections for my CD player. The last guy did a terrible job, hacked the dash up, didn't mount it right, etc. In addition, he ran some tiny zip cord back to each of the speakers. I was planning on just going with a pair of 6x9's behind the seats, but figure I might as well upgrade the rears while I'm at it. Does anyone have any suggestions for some decent speakers that fit the stock locations? And also, is there a kit or something I can buy that will ease the mounting of the new ste…

Hi all, I've been lurking on this board for some time now and thought I should finally register and introduce myself. I've owned 240Z's since the late 80's and have driven nothing else as daily drivers since. To date I've owned a total of three 240Z's; two 72' and one 71'. Also to date, unfortunately, I've crashed two of those Z's. The last one being the week before last. The first one I rolled over in the early 90's and totalled the car. This was the first Z I ever owned. Afterward, I swore I would never, ever, commit such a horrendous act again. The second I wrecked last week, occured when I lost traction while turning unto a freeway on ramp. The ground was wet from…
