Just bought 4 Z's last week for $1000. Talked the guy down from $100, $300, $700, and $1000 respectively. From worst to best (and following the above pricing): 1977: Rusty--and in really bad places, Auto...not much redemming value. Sold the suspension at all four corners for Ground Control cores and the brakes to a C production racer (needed 280 rear drums) for $100. Took the 'puter, harness and all fuse, ignition and relay blocks along with the complete intake and AFM for me. White interior but totally trashed. Took it to the crusher yesterday. 1981: Rusty but with a 5-speed. Nice 15" alloy American Racing wheels complete with bolt covers. Brought it home this m…

The amazing achievements of the American military could not have been accomplished without the defense policy of former President Clinton. Even those of you that are blinded by ideology or partisanship must admit that the military might of the U.S. was developed prior to Dubya. Bush has been throwing money at the pentagon but none of it has resulted in the development of the high tech weaponry used in Iraq. Clinton had 8 years to get ready for Iraq. And yet Clinton was accused of gutting our military capabilities. All honest Americans must give Clinton some credit for this victory over such the huge and overwhelming threat that Iraq posed. I hope that el Presidente…

Well I finally got to meet someone from the board in person! Phi22b@ck came up to my house in jersey from maryland on frioday to bring a wonderful present! As many of you may have read in some of my older posts one of my cars has been diagnosed with cancer really bad. I mean really really bad. This is one of the worst structurally rusted Z cars I have ever seen to date. The Rad support is swiss cheese. Floors non existant. Passenger side firewall along with the battery tray and inner fender well, a long lost memory. Seabelt supports underneath, good bye. Even the trans tunnel is soft where the e-brake handle mounts. Its a shame too cause the car is really sharp otherwise.…

I've got an annoying problem with my new Z. It’s a very high-pitched squeak that only occurs at certain speeds. It doesn't start until like 30mph, and goes away at around 55-60 (or at least I can't hear it anymore, I can't be sure it is gone). When I apply a very slight pressure to the breaks (so little the car doesn't even begin to slow) it goes away, and if I press the brakes right it will go away on one side before the other (it happens on both sides). Any idea what this is? Is it something that needs to be replaced, or just something I can adjust? Sorry I don't have more specifics, it’s only been happening for about a week (but happens consistently). Thanks for a…

The War in Iraq....editorial of an airline passenger's experience -- I want to tell you of an experience I had Thursday night flying home from Atlanta. The pilot came on the intercom and went through the usual announcements telling us that "we're just east of Montgomery cruising at 28,000 feet" and "you've picked a beautiful night for flying, just look at the gorgeous southern sunset out of the right side of the plane". He then, however, said this: "Please bear with me as I deviate from the script, but I want you all to know that simply by coincidence you have been granted both the privilege and honor of escorting the body of Army PFC Howard Johnson, Jr. home tonight. PFC…

So I was recently in Bend, where I discovered the Bend Area Datsun Association. Also know as B.A.D arse. Gotta admit, great name for the association. Met up with '73orv, he has a very nice '73 that just did great in the pro-solo comp. ANYWAY, it made me think that we in the pacific northwest need to get together more often that we do... These guys meet the fourth Thursday of every month and have quite the group. This made me salivate for a meeting of the Z minds here locally, it was very cool to see all the z's and datsuns in geneeral lined up with the public wandering around like they were in a Z twilight zone. I'm not suggesting that we meet every Thursday or wha…

There is an article on the 350z in today's motoring section of the West Australian. The article is written by Johnathan Hawley of The Age who starts his well researched view by stating " The Nissan 350z that went on sale a month or so ago carries a lot of baggage, mainly centered around four or five models carrying the same Z in their name. (good to see that his extensive research enabled him to know when the 350z was launched here and how many cars had the letter Z in their designation:stupid: He then goes on to say that some of these Z cars were ok,(something of an understatement Johnathan! have you ever seen a 240z or read any of it's history) some reportedly were fra…
