Hi All, Does anyone have information on the Nissan factory project of refurbished 1970 240z's? I believe the project was abandoned by Nissan sometime ago but I was wanting to get some information about the project. If anyone has any insight on the project or where I could find information on it, I would greatly appreciate it. I believe that only certain Nissan dealerships where involved in the project. Thanks in advance, DhudsonZ

My neighboor is selling a 1982 Datsun 280Zx.... non-turbo... no sunroof.... it had new paintjob, factory color, about 2 years ago.... and the engine has 63,000k. The engine needs a tune-up and its an automatic transmission. he is asking $5,000 but negionable.... and Kelley's BlueBook says its about $2,800. No rust.. excellent condition.... How much should I pay for it?

I know that the basics of this have been answered and I have that information. My question is more specific. I am going to physically inspect a 240Z that I may buy and need some information on what to look for. Now I'm not talking rust and the other basics. This car has no engine, and has not been on the road in many years so I need to know what additional items I should inspect carefully that you may not on a driver. Then if I do get it what should I expect to have to do to make it drivable and safe for the road (other than put an engine in it of course :stupid: )? The seller has already told me that the tires are not in good shape, the hatch rubber should be replace…

Let me rephrase my poll intro...I know what I want...I also know my limitations (money, I'm on the friggin' east coast, no MIG welder, unquinchable thirst for something different and fast as balls, etc) So I ask from a TECHNICAL standpoint, what is the best Z-ZX....ok ok just vote I don't give a crap why or how I was jus curious...Doesn't really matter what you all post I'll still keep my dream in my mind...('72 shell (cuz they were safer, still light, small bumpers, and the quinks of the first 2 years were somewhat hammered out) rolling with a RB26DETT ok wait I WAS DREAMING THERE...my '81 L28 rebuilt to the hilt as I call it running FI, ungodly turbo, blah blah blah …

Hey guys! I'm kind of new here, but am considering purchasing a 240z.....I used to own a '93 TT Rx-7 but sold it a while back....reliability issues and stuff. I know the Z isn't the most reliable either but, I'll bet nothing compared to those 72 rubber hoses with the sequential set up....damn that engine bay was packed....well, anyways, I was wondering whether you guys can give me any advice (so far I know that I have to look out for rust and suspension problems) So far I'm thinking of installing ZG fenders, MSA front end and a newer dash. What are those headlight covers called? Are they still available? I'm thinking of spending around $7k plus more for paint job, bo…

While I'm actually on a computer... Nissan's website (www.nissan-usa.com) has recently put up some new information about the upcoming roadster model. From what I can see (imho), it looks great with the top down, and nasty with it up. But then again, what sports car looks really great with a convertible top on? I suppose they're meant to be kept off. So what looks better? I'd personally go with a hard top myself, but then again, I'd almost never opt for a convertible. And then again, I don't have $40k lying around, so what difference does it make?

  Just a spot of useless information for anyone travelling through Central Queensland around the 25th of May. The ALL CLASSIC MOTOR CLUB, Central Queensland Inc. (of which I am a member) is holding it's annual Classics By The Coast on the 25th of May at Bell Park, in the little seaside town of Emu Park (about 45 kms out of Rockhampton) Cars litterally come from everywhere. Last year there were over a hundred cars on display. Holdens, Fords, Datsuns, Chevs, you name it. There was a Camaro there that made my mouth water. The INDIAN motor bike club was in the area and dropped in for a cuppa which added even more interest. So, if you are going to be in the a…

I am the original owner of a 1973 240Z. It needs some body work (a little rust and a paint job), along with some engine work. Can anyone recommend someone in Missouri that has experience with 240Z's. Casey

Hey Guys, It's been a while since I've been on this site, mostly because I've been spending my time driving my Z instead of fixing problems on it (which makes a lot of people hate me). But after three lonely months I got her out of storage last week, and lo and behold something's wrong. I'm not too knowledgable in Z-specific maintenance (mostly due to my OK-condition car), so I've never had to put my speedster up on lifts. Those days are now over. I worked on her for a while, started her up, backed it out of the garage and promptly realized I had little brake pressure... perhaps due to a master cylinder that had been leaking all over my engine compartment. Anyways. So I'…
