Hello Anyone out there in Australia able to tell me if the 240z had the same front bumper bar mounting brackets as the 260z. The RHD fiche shows two different styles, one for the 240z and the other essentially for the 260z. Would anyone out there that currently has some brackets off their car be able to measure them for me or trace around them and post some measurements to the board. Im particularly looking for the bend dimensions to get the correct profile. I am currently having some difficulity in mounting my front bumper on my 71 240z. Im in Australia. I have had to bend the brackets totally out of shape to get the holes in the brackets to line up with the mounting stu…

Can anyone tell me if they have installed a strut bar and if the improvement was noticeable? I am considering this with my '71. It seems that you could almost make a set yourself. I have not looked into the benefits and was looking for some "hands-on" experience.... Thanks, Brian

Hi, I'm a new member to this site and I was wondering about the origin of my car. I am the third owner (second owner was my dad) and the story is that this car was owned by the ex-president of some california zcar club. I don't know a whole lot about z's, but what is unusual about my car is a custom vinyl bra and mohair? seat interior. I think that the seats are factory options, but does anybody know the owner of this car? It is a July 72 240z with vin #hls30-93507. Im just curious. Thanks. P.S. Any suggestions for a replacement cam for my stock l24?

After a long time coming; new ZTherapy SU's, rebuilding the steering rack, putting new Sumitomos on, I have completed my first fairly extensive trip in my resurrected 70. Trip was to the other side of the state, about 120 road miles. Engine ran flawlessly all the way out and back. Ran mostly interstates on the way out. No problem holding at 80 to 85, other than the sweat factor, scanning the dials, seeing no problem, wondering why, finally relaxing and letting it run. On the way back, shunpiked most of the way running on nicely curving roads across southern Pennsylvania, dropping back down into Maryland to run across horse country to home. Great feeling really runni…

The black hood you refer to was used to cut down reflection on the works `Datsun ` rally cars in the early 70s, as to the similarity with the `Samuri` cars of the same period the hood or `Bonnet` colour was `Chrisler Tango Metalic`and was more often found on `Hillman` cars in the UK. The reason I know this is that I made most of the air dams and painted them. Good to see a pic. of old `Big Sam

Can someone enlighten me as to the significance behind this body scheme. I see them every now and then and I feel like there is a history behind this. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=3551 I'm not really sure how to do this properly but the pic is in there somewhere.
