Hi everyone. Just a note to introduce myself. I am an original owner, of a 240Z built in 10/71. Here is my story. Upon return from service in The Republic of Korea, my wife and I looked for a new vehicle. We heard about the new Datsun from Car & Driver, as well as my sport car racing brother. He commented on the generous amount of room in the vehicle. Yes, it has leg room for someone 6'4". It was May 1971, and we put $100 down at the new Datsun dealer in Belair Maryland. This dealer was in an old gas station with a couple of bays and one car in the "showroom" that was the old front office. Remember those. In October we came up on the top of the waiting list, but there…

i found a 72 240Z today for sale in my town. the body and interior are in decent shape as is the engine. the PO swapped out the 2.4 for a 280Z engine (my guess is the L28). its the one with both intake and exhaust in the left side. this engine has been cammed, has a header/exhaust, and is running a 4bbl holley vac secondary on a clifford manifold, may also have had suspension work done as it sits lower than stock. the engine has a very lopey idle but has ferocious throttle response (revs VERY fast). and its quite loud. the asking price on this car is $3995 USD. is it worth the asking price or is it overpriced? also should i just pass this one up due to the mods

Okay- I'm sitting at a stop light yesterday and look to my right. There sits this short, portly lady with her index finger shoved so far up her nose..... Anyway, she then proceeds to extract her trophy and thoroughly exam it. I really, really, really didn't need to see this- ugh just gross. I guess the point of this (other than to help distribute some of my disgust and shock) is to make people aware of this dasturdly habit. It happens, I know, but please be descrete if it must happen at all. Sorry to take up such a rude subject so early but it stayed with me.

I was looking at air compressors and was wondering what the difference is between "single stage & dual stage"? Is single stage 120v and dual stage 240v? When doing the wiring for it would the dual stage get connected like an electric dryer or range?

Over Christmas when I went over to England, i heard some songs of this band - 'The Datsuns'. I just heard one of their songs on the radio over here in the states and I was wondering where they got their name from? I mean, datsun isn't a real word is it? Is it possible that they just stole their name from the cars? Check them out www.thedatsuns.com

I was recently presented with an issue I would be interested in hearing some other opin's on. I know the majority of those here are strictly 1st gen fans and another huge chunk (but getting smaller) of you are totally ANTI-Z33, so if you don't have anything constructive to say...just look the other way! Should G35 coupes be invited/allowed in Z clubs? steve
