Hi guys...been away for a while.... Just wondering...my Z is running fine (what else is to be expected of the L-series), but the camchain is clacking a little so I've decided to get the top end rebuilt whilst I'm there...to be sure, to be sure....If anyone could tell me of someone in melbourne who could do the rebuild well, and for a good price...obviously....other than Z spares (Lindsay is always busy, I'd be in a long line!!). Also, a good place to get my suspension done...I have the regulars for my daily that I use, but the Z is a bit special...so no ordinary place will do(!)...Any suggestions guys? Thanks and happy driving everyone!!!

I am currently looking at a 73 240Z. The owner is asking quite a bit of money for it--$6800. Just need some opinions as to whether or not this is reasonable. First off, I realize that the Z's are getting kinda sparse in good condition and the price reflects that. But, in my experience only the restored pieces go for that kind of money. This car is unrestored with original paint (good shape) 128K miles on original motor. Sounds good huh? It is, for the most part. My concerns are this, It needs weather stripping on the rear hatch area, the driver's side seal finisher needs to be replaced (rust under the vinyl). Also the car has lots of dings and dents, and the ro…

OK, the latest in my search for the "perfect" Z leads me to a 260Z. Now, I have not been considering a 260Z at all, until I see this add. Now all of a sudden, I am considering it. He lives about an hour and a half from me, so going to look at it will be a piece of cake. Tell me what you all think. Is it worth buying a 260 that is in this condition? 1974 DATSUN 260Z,Really nice Datsun 260Z, 6cyl, 2.6L, with less than 80,000 miles. Runs great. Fresh Jasper engine w/less than 500 miles. Two new Webber Redline 2barrel carbs with K&N filters. Rebuilt alternator & starter. New Borg and Beck clutch setup. New clutch hydraulic master cylinder & slave cylin…

I guess if you can't afford a race car and don't like the idea of the "family jewels" being 2 inches off the ground with a kart, this is a wild alternative..... Fuuny how a snowmobile made its way to Florida, but I guess he had to do something to be able to use it.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2404763076&category=6736

I have a 510 that look like its got the wrong struts on it. the engine is going to get yanked eventually, and when it gets put back in, it'll need a front suspension rebuild. If I have the engine and tranny out, will it be hard to remove as well?

I read that if you replace the points distributor with a 1975-1983 D2 distributor with a E12-80 module, the 240 tach won't work. Is this true, and are there any work arounds to get the 240 tack to work with this setup? Thanks, Vic.

The absolute altime most incredible truck ever built is returning! Check this baby out. Talk about retro and 'returning to roots...' (as a little progress study, compare a picture of a '69 240 and a 350Z and then compare a pic of this to a '69 FJ). steve ps..though I'm gusessing it dosn't come with a straight 6...

The drivers side lap belt in my '72 240z wouldn't retract after I pulled it out too far and I just got done taking it apart and trying to fix it. I am guessing that the inside end of the coiled up band of metal is supposed to have some sort of bend in it to interface with the slot in the spindle without slipping under tension? I reassembled it multiple times and every time I would get it working, the metal would slip back out again after a few pulls/retracts. The band was very brittle and had a lot of surface rust between the layers so I could not create a new bend in it to allow it to interface with the spindle properly. Does anyone know if I can find a new coil anyplac…
