Was there ever a 240z "50 anniversary". Someone asked me if the one he saw was a real edition or a nasty "fake" ! I know about the 280ZX, and the 300zx (z31) special edition but nothing about the 240z Allan ?

And I'm not talking the glee club.... Yesterday I was out driving on a killer sunny day here in Forest Grove, after travelling for a couple of hours and cornering a bit on the country roads I noticed water hitting the windshield and my temp shooting up fast... Not good. Car got hotter and hotter as I desperatley searched for a hose. Finally I reached a friends house just as the temp amost topped out.... Carefully topping it off with water to limp her home I noticed a circle in the radiator like the radiator had been laid up against the fan, funny the damn thing seems tight, what the hell...And, water shooting out of the seam where the fan had struck the top / side... I just got set of these euro tail lights for my 73 240. They came with the wire harness too. The problem is there is a extra wire on the harness. The plug is also a different style. Stock mine has a square 4 wire plug with a red/black, black, green, and green/white wire. The euro set has a rectangle plug with red/black, black, green, green/white, and GREEN/YELLOW. Seems that the green/yellow wire is the extra one.It also goes to both top bulbs. The stock only had the third wire going to one of the top bulbs. Anyone make sense of it for me. Can anyone give me an idea of what an original Hitachi radio is worth, I know it's really worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it and how much they want it but any feedback would be helpful, also how hard are they to get hold of? I have a chance of getting one which is one of the few non original parts I need for my car. Regards Lee

This weekend i am planing on puting my '71 Thunderbird to rest for a while, because it is an electrical snafu + firehazard with wheels. My dad's old car, a '77 280Z, has been siting for about a year and a half or more now, and I want to take it off his hands. What should i do to get it running? my checklist thus far: new battery (im thinking about a marine battery as well, as they are more robust) change engine oil (wouldnt mind recomendations on brands and viscosity to use) check tires for dry rot check brakes drain fuel tank, and get some good fuel in there. anything else i should do?

I am pulling a pirfectly sound good 240 engine and installing a 280zx . I want to store the old engine and want to do it as right as I can . I plan to run the engine untill at normal temp and introduce mystery oil into the intakes to coat everything while the engine is running and shut it down and drain the oil , that is clean,and remove the filter. When I pull the intake and exhost manifolds spray oil into the ports and close with oil dampined rags. Question No.2 This Z has an auto trans. which I am going to be reusing, should I drain the fluid so as not spilling oil all over when I tilt the engine and trans to remove from the car .
