Will a wiper motor out of a 1982 DATSUN 280 ZX fit in a 72 240z. I am not worried about the Wiring I have access to both year diagrams. I am more interested in knowing how much if any modifications I will have to do it or my 240 to get it to fit. This motor seems to be more available than the early year models. Thanks James

For some reason on hot days my tachometer when I start up my car goes all of the way past red line and sits at like 10K rpm's. My engine temp is normal and when I drive it the car works fine but the gauge just sits there. It only does this in hot weather (100F and up). If anyone has an idea why this is happening please share, because I have no idea!

I pull in to get some gas and there sits a rust free 82 280ZX. Not a spot on it. I go in and just asked the girl at the counter if its hers. She said " Yes I just bought it " I am thinking cool another Z person in town. Then she gose on " Yah I just picked it up from a guy for 500 bucks and it has heat so..." Now I am not a fan of the ZX but damn its clean gold on gold with t tops. And here she get it cuz it has heat thinking it nothing. with a person selling it in my town for nothing :sleepy: O Well I gave her my card and said call if you would like to sell it.

Well here we are.... Tore the head down today with Phred, by the way thanks Mr. Phred, I learned a bunch today, I wish I had 10% of your knowledge. So the plot thickens. Bent 4 exhausts and 1 intake. Ouch, but could have been MUCH worse, so if it had to happen, I'm thankful that it was minimal in comparison. The N42 had the bronze giudes replaced with steel, so that's good. But this makes me wonder if the valves are different from stock. They would most likely be different from the stock due to the guide upgrade?? (material wise...??) The dimensions are 1.385 on the exhaust head and 4.620 in lentgh, 1.740 on the intake valve head and 4.580 in length. Now, the N47 was…

Today I saw the best set up for an engine stand to work on a L - engine and I hope one of our members will sheare the design with us . This holds the block form the side and allows free access and the engine to be able to spin 360 degrees. It is amazing to see the talent that is out here . I am at a aha from those that know electrical to paint and design . It is my privledge to know you all, I mean it.

Does anybody out there know whether the front overider or beauty bar is installed over the rubber strips on the face guards on the front bumper by drilling the hole through the rubber and sitting the brackets on each end of the bar on the rubber. Or do you cut the rubber strips and lay the brackets on the bar against the metal of the guard. Or do I need different guards or different rubber strips. The car is a 1971 240. Was that confusing enough . Thanks for any help Burt cardogman1

Well, I picked up the car tonight. Definitly different than anything else i've ever driven. Should be a fun(one way or the other). got to talk to the body shop about getting to work on it. But there's a coupla mechanical gremlins i wanna sort out first. She's a 77 Fairlady Z, RHD, w/ a front and rear spoiler on her. got turbo hood on it(factory decal w/ japanese lettering on the inside). And that inlet is sittin' right over the carbs. engine is an L28 w/ N42 head, triple mikunis, no air cleaners, electric fuel pump, 6-1 header, 2 1/4 exhaust w/o cat:classic: . And(as it seems to be somewhat of a tradition w/ every car i buy) the a/c's been yanked. unknown internal …
