Well, its winter, its snowing.. why in the world would anyone drive their datsun now.. Well I was coming home from my friends house, and my other friend was looking at a industrial building, and as we drove by he goes "Datsun!" Im like whoa! it is! I turned around and went to look at it, it had been sitting over night, because it was covered in snow.. I noticed there was no front license plate, and I want to go back and check if there is a rear license plate.. Not to cheat anyone out of their datsun, but I want it.. because if there is no rear license plate, I could call the police, and get permission to tow it.. and my friends parents own a body shop, and they have …

Thanks for all of your help, guys. In addition to my brake question, I got what I thought was my rusty door edge guard off. Turns out the stainless piece is fine, the metal piece with the vinyl covering was all that was rusty! Whew. My floorboards, as you can see, are relatively rust free. (Or are they?) Thank god for inside storage for 14 years. Anyway, what do you experts think I should do to keep it that way? My thought was to take everything out of the interior and POR-15 the whole thing. Any thoughts? Thanks for your advice.

Hello, I'm new to the forum and i need some help finding info on a car. I live in North Carolina and i've come across 280z that's been imported over. The current owner can't tell me much about the car so I'm currently searching for information. All I've been told about the car is that it was built for racing for a European family. It was built by a company called Eva Racing. The owner says that it is 77 model and it has a 2.8L engine with triple Weber carbs. It is still RHD and the body and interior are in need of restoration. THe color appears to be a two tone maroon red w/ black running along the lower portion of car and a yellow stripe separting the two colors. …

Originally posted on zdriver.com just a few minutes ago (sorry Mike:tapemouth).... I have just returned home from my monthy 'Nissan SVD owners Club' meeting (http://www.svd.asn.au), and it appears that there have been a number of enquires from owners of Prince Skylines, 260Z's, 1200's etc. regarding joining the club. The documented 'cut-off date' for eligibility for membership was previously 1982 (in order to allow the entry of early R30 Skylines, like mine). However it has been unanimously decided (by an official vote), that the club will accept membership applications from owners of any 'Special Interest' Prince, Datsun or Nissan car. Cars must be well presented, especi…

Okay, found some time today and managed to get the master cylinder out of my 71. (Frozen in time, parked for a decade). This is the first of several posts of my weekend discoveries. One, I bought a new master cyl (in photo) but the reservoirs seem to be reversed, which makes me think it is for a 260 instead. Will this work as is? Can I swap the reservoirs? Does it matter? Yes, I could not get one of the lines off despite the new 10mm line wrench. I think I had already rounded it off too much with a Snap-On 10mm. Still looking for retailer of that hose new if anyone has any clues. Nissan dealer? Also when I got it off I found the white junk in there. Also photoed be…

Has anyone ever seen a Z that looks like the body was dipped in Zinc Chromate by the factory? I have a 74 260Z that appears to have had this done. I was looking at a 73 240Z that was being stripped down for restoration and there was bare metal under the tar boards. On mine, Zinc Chromate under the tarboards, paint, seam sealer, you name it. And it's done a great job too as my Z has very little corrosion. The battery tray looks like you would expect though, deep pitting and all.

Greetings from Snohomish Washington. My name is Oliver Naugle, and I'm commonly referred to as the Z man or Z man of Washington. I'm new to this forum as of the last week of December 2002. Thanks to Enrique (escalon) for informing me about this site. I've been repairing and building cars since I was 15 years old, and even helped teach a year of high school auto shop in 1973. I have a long time love affair loaded with extreme passion for the z car. I bought my first one in 78 brand new. A black pearl edition, and still own it today. I now own about 60 or more of them in various stages of repair. My oldest one is #23. I've been repairing and restoring them since 78 when I s…
