I have a 73 240 with both electric and engine mounted fuel pumps. If I get rid of the mechanical pump, will the electric electric pump supply sufficient fuel to the three webers(dcoe 40) I have? Header is only other engine modification. Thanks.

Alright, lets try this again. I'm trying to find out what block I should use for my engine swap. I have an N-42 block with a P-79 head and an F-54 block with a P-90 head. I would think that newer is better but the F-54 is a turbo with fuel injection and I want to stay with carbs. Suggestions? Please help!:stupid:

Apparently a very high power chevrolet is prowling around my home town, now i know its not a datsun but i thought this would be of interest, especially the engine. Well, I got a little bored in school.. I cant take all the credit for this all being free hand.. but most of it is.. I had to trace some of a picture to get the proportions and styling of the car right.. Drawn from this car.. (not sure whos it is.. I think it was on this board, or the Hybrid Z board..) I need to swap door shells on my Z. I am talking with someone out of town who has 2 shells from a 71 240. Will they match up with a 76 280? I have been told they will but my main concern is the locking mechanism on the inside of the door not matching up with mine. On a 240 can the lock that attaches to the body of the car be removed? Not sure if I should just wait till I find another 280 but at $40 per door in good condition It is hard to pass up. Since mine is a 76 I have come in contact with several other 280's that dont match up either.

We're holding this Northern California Racing Club event January 25th at Sears Point just north of San Francisco in Sonoma County. This event will be run like a street school, in that there will only be passing in safe zones. We'll run a Time Trial event right after lunch, so expect one optional session of individual timed laps (ala Solo 1). No racing, this is for learning and having fun, and a safe dose of competition. I was watching the news here in Oklahoma and we are getting our first winter storm tonight. They said we should see heavy ice and light snow. But not to worry because they have 90 tons of salt for the roads around here. I just am so happy (for the first time in months) that my Z is stuck indoors.

If you had unlimited resources to build...no, create your ideal Z for spirited street legal use, what would you have? That is to say, where would you start? Although I believe most of us take great pride in Z ownership (as evident here on this website) ultimately our customizing decision and approach are compromised by reality needs (food, rent, girlfriends, family, Back Street Boys CDs). So, let's just pretend we won our respective state lotto and set up a booty camp on Malibu. You just kicked Brittany out for suggesting you sell "that old Z car" so you have the time and motivation. just checking to see who else has had a restoration going on over 5 years. I have 7 years and three moves logged on my 74 260! Although I have had 6 cars total in all sorts of condition, my 74 is receiving the "polish everything with a diaper" treatment.
