This is sort of a question for Mike but thought others may know the answer or have some interest. I'm wondering if there is a way to create a folder on this site for personal use to store threads or subscriptions to threads of things one is interested in without having to keep a log or do a search on a specific topic. Think of this as a folder on your desktop that you copy into. Perhaps that is your answer - created a folder on my own system that I can copy threads too. Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

Restoration

I'm getting ready to start a restoration on my 73 Z. I am using a "rotiserie" style set-up that is suspended from a metal frame in the garage. My question is; Will the bumper supports hold the weight of the car? I do plan on taking out the engine and tranny before raising the car. I'm guessing that I'm looking at about 2,000 lbs.

Alright, I need some help clearing this up. Everything I've ever seen on the output of the z's always shows the 240's at 150hp and the 260 and 280's dropping more untill the arrival of the turbo zx's. Is this true? I now doubt this due to a recent post that shows multiple VIN tags that show a 260 at 162 and a 280 at 170hp. What's the deal? Can someone set me straight. thanks Nate

QUICK! Name these models. Subtract 20 points for consulting the VB catalogue and subtract 30 points for checking with ZHOME. Just driving down the road, minding my own business and saw these crumpled heaps of gorgeous Z metal in a vacant lot. Pulled in and snooped around and whipped out my trusty Makita and lifted some tags. I will give them a decent burial. steve77

Well I think I have seen the most extensive rust damage on a Zcar now. Demographically I am on the east coast and there aren't many of these cars over here that have not had to be patched together at some point. Well, this 78 280 I picked up had been restored about 7 years ago by a friend of mine. The car was partially done right, and then rushed as his parents were leasing a new lazer that was sitting in the driveway all winter so they wanted the car out of garage to shelter the lazer. it was sold after it was painted and put back together. the kid that bought it never drove it as it developed a problem in the harness and never got it started. 7 years later I bought t…

Hey I was thinking of powder coating my header and coil over springs. Has anyone done this? Will the headers flake? Will the springs flex cause the powder coat to crack?

Ok we've all seen various 250GTO kits in various degrees of good/bad taste, some still running on 260Z alloys etc. Can anyone tell me if there was ever a 275GTB kit? This seems to be much more like a Z and I would imagine it would be a heck of a lot easier to convert - the car even has the fared-in lights like a G-nose! Anyone? ps I wouldn't change my impending 240 for one - honest! Sean

I finally was able to take pictures of the underneath and battery tray of my Grandma's '71 240Z. NO RUST ANYWHERE!! Pictures should be up tomorrow in my picture place. I found what I think is the engine # on the right side of the block just under the head. L24 017912 sound right?? Is this the correct number?? I remember someone said there should be a matching # somewhere else on the car?? Where is it?? Is that engine # correct for that car? My Grandma says it's never been changed, but they bought the car in '75 or so from the neighbor. Thanks again for all your help!! The car is still for sale, please e-mail me, I have a ton more pictures. stevescott@telis.org -Steve
