Here are the results of the court case vs Maaco. Judge ruled they get away with painting the bumpers because I signed a receipt when I picked up the car. All the little fine print nobody reads. I only signed the receipt as conformation I picked up the car since I was in a hurry that day. However, they did not get away with painting the gas tank since the Judge agreed this was not found out till long after the paint job was done. All in all Maaco lost half the case and had to pay court fees so I did not lose any money. This Maaco also had an unanswered complaint on file with the Better Business Bureau from another customer. Now they have two on file. I realize some M…

Every month, when GRM comes, I get this strange feeling after reading it. The feeling lies somewhere between comfort and greed...somewhere between being a stylish original and being a faceless contender. It's the urge to move from the Z into something with better support. Do you know what I mean? All those ads...all those products...all that technology...simple bolt-ons...major plug-and-play modifications, out of the box. CARB-registered street-modified parts. Sometimes I get the urge to buy a little 3-series or maybe even a 944 someone hasn't taken very good care of.... Then I see a picture of a Z and it passes. Besides, Datsun people are the coolest! steve77

In the Motorsport catalog, an electronic ignition black box and a 12 volt high output coil are available to be used in conjunction with the standard single point distributor. It looks like the total investment would be around $230.00 . Does anyone have an opinion on this configuration?

Hello people. I have taken alot of time and done a ton of homework on the best finish for for your car. This is because I have opened a detail shop and only wanted the best of the best. I have been detailing cars from every day drivers - Ferrari for over 14 years. I do know what I am doing and talking about. I would never back or sell anything that could harm any car in any way. The line I use is called dri- wash yes dri not dry. This is by far the best out there. It is used on eight of the ten most expensive cars in the world . The biggest reason you dont see this stuff in stores is the cost. The other is the fact that if you call on getting there stuff they try and …

I was just wondering anyone living down near melbourne (australia) As I am chasing after my dash to be repaired it has cracks along the top of the dash and also my console is broken in half, seems that it has cracked where the manual choke for the SU's sat. Would I be better off chasing these parts up from a wreckers?? or Will it be cheaper to get them repaired??

Hello All, Yesterday I drove to Salem (Oregon) and visited the guys at ZTherapy and it was an awesome experience! Steve was very helpful, when he found something wrong with the carbs, he explained what the problem was and how it was affecting the operation of the engine. The SM needles and new jets made a HUGE difference in the runnability and performance of the engine! I learned a ton of stuff, I can't say enough good things about Steve and Bruce and their knowledge of these carbs. I would suggest that you visit the web site at ZTherapy.com and call them with questions / orders, the money I spent there was worth the knowledge alone, it will also improve my gas mile…

Hi guys I recently aquired a nice 240z but I didn't notice that until after I bought it that there were one or two small things in the paint work that frustrate me. It's typical until you own it you don't notice the small things. Anyway the problem is the bonnet mainly. It has faded a bit in the sun as Red Paint will. It's nothing big but the rest of the car is really quite red even the roof. I polished it recently and it made it less noticeable (not noticable to the untrained eye). I was considering a cut n' polish but it strips a layer of paint and I feel that it will just start to fade again later. (I've had 3 red cars before). There's also some water marks(little whit…

Are all Zs' indicators so sloooow?? Mine stay on for, say, a bit less than 2 seconds, and go off for about half a second. It seems very slow... ricers adjust their indicators somehow to make them flash on and off really fast, so one would expect the mod to be cheap and quick. Is that the truth?

Hi I've got several spots of rust on my car (all exterior), a few nasty scratches and small dents, and several panels out of whack (probably the last owner's sandblasting job?) and I'd like to get rid of it all. Before I go to some panelbeating place, how much is this likely to cost? I've attached a picture detailing everything. With rust, why exactly do people insist on replacing with metal instead of bondo? I imagine bondo is much cheaper but if there is a logical reason for the metal then I will fork out extra for that. The panels are not bent as such, but rather they're warped. Can you fix that without having to repaint the whole panel? Most of the scratches are …

Ok, I have been looking around at some of the bone yards around here and found some good potential. 1. (2) 280 z cars different years 1 and 1/2 engines, no tranny, minimal rust, interior shot, no glass, no tires or rims, and various missing parts. $300 + $50 for delivery - or - 2 (3) 280zx turbo cars three engines, three trannys, all body parts, two are t top, minimal rust, rims and tires fair, interior to be desired. no offer yet all of these are 2 + 2 and are in workable (not running) condition. My plan is to gut everything, strip and paint, restore body, and modify the engine for top drivability and speed (slightly over the legal limits). If you had these plans what w…

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone knew of any wrecking yards in Brisbane Australia that have 240Z's or 260Z's sitting there rusting away. I am chasing some fairly common parts so it doesn't matter what model they come off, just need to find a car at a wreckers. I've done some ringing around and the wreckers seem pretty clueless as to what they have "out the back". Something else I'm chasing is a drivers side (RH) door lifter. The little triangle thing that lifts the door into place when you close it. If anyone in Brisbane has some of these or knows where I could get one can you let me know. Ta. OzLime240Z
