The History Channel is running a special on the 240Z this week: Voyages Monday , August 12 11:00 AM-12:00 PM Automobiles: Nissan Z Car For years, Americans had turned to Japan for reliable econo-boxes, but few in the auto industry believed they could build anything else. The stunning debut of the Z changed that image forever. TV G Which brings to mind..... what other shows are there that cover the best damn sports car ever period! DwightROFL ROFL

Well, I went to my second show this year, and among the 700 hundreds cars that were there, I WAS THE ONLY JAPANESE CAR AMONG THE LOT!!!!! Can you believe that??? I was competing in my class against nice MB 180SL, 250SL cabriolet, Alafa Romeo, Porsche 356 and so on, and I did took the 3rd price!!! That was nice, cos on saturday, we had to do a parade in the village of Stowe (Vermont), and people were waving and saying: LOOK, A DATSUN, WOW!!!!! Me and my girlfriend did had a really good time, and the car was a great tourer iwth my new engine in it. It a blast to drive and a confortable tourer as well on long trip!!!! Long live the ZED!:classic: :classic:

I think I have narrowed a performance issue with my 240 not revving as high as it should to carburator jetting. Although I could still be chasing the wrong cause. I have a stock motor except for carbs and headers. The carbs are tripple 40mm webers with the following setup. Choke = 26mm Main = 130 air comp = 170 Emulsion tube = f11 aux = 4.5 needle = 175 idle = 40/45 f9 Does this look correct for a 240 motor? I am suspecting the choke size and emulsion tubes are incorrect.

Just curious, I'm at the point where I'm looking at spending some reasonable dollars on a good 240... have any of you invested over $10,000 US or $20,000 australian? There arent many cars that have kept my excitement like the 240z over the years, but, I sometimes wonder if I should spend the same amount of cash on a newer car, or even a z32... opinions?

ARE 1970,1971,1972,1973, and early 260Z front and rear bumpers exactly the same? The reason why I am asking is because I purchased front and rear bumper over-rider bars off ebay and on first inspection they do not look like they will fit my 72 240Z !!!! And after looking at them I think I like the way my car looks without them!!!! They are in excellent condition but they just do not look like they will fit ,plus would I have to drill holes in my bumper to install them??? I that is true I just wasted about $60.00 bucks plus shipping !!!! :stupid: :stupid: :stupid : :stupid: :stupid: Thanks …

I just wanted to say that after 6 weeks of Z ownership, I LOVE MY Z! I just put a new clutch and lightened flywheel in my 70 240z today(L28, SU's, 5 Spd, 16" wheels, Tokicos) and for the first time since I bought it I got a feel for what driving this awesome machine is going to be like. It absolutely rocks with the new clutch. The 70z is so light, the engine is quick and responsive, and it handles as flat as a piece of plywood! Add to that the stereo I installed this week, and it is starting to feel like a real car. Now all I need to do is put on the better fenders, hood, and bumpers I have in the back yard. Then of course, there is paint prep and paint. Oh, then I w…

Eureka!!! I found her!!! She's all mine!!! Back off!!! 71 240z not to far from me and for sale. The price? Let's just say it's a song and dance. Now here's the best part. I'm not supposed to get one 'till after we get hitched in October, but... I've conned her into going with me to look at it and if I like it, and she likes it, the price sure is right! I could very well have a Z by the weekend!!! So like I'm so freakin' flippin' crazy excited out of my mind I had to say something!!! Of course it could be a big turd not worth the time or money:disappoin The ad says "1971 DATSUN 240Z, , restoration project, 100% rust free, California car, runs good, strong engi…

I think this is by far the nicest 240 I've ever seen, I'm pretty sure its owner lives in Sydney, If I could track him down, I'd be interested to see if he'd consider selling (it's a V8 btw)

Other aussies may have caught this, but there was a doco on channel ten today at 2:30pm on this years targa tasmania rally. Had a squiz at their site and managed to find a couple photos of competing zeds. Linkage to follow: uphill shot side on straight on Check out their site for some more great photos of classic cars. On another note, I might have a go in a year or three in my 260, or the old mans porsche 914 (damn that thing turns)
