hey im new here...wanted to introduce myself. been into mostly rx-7's and such, but right now im kinda hurting financially. i always wanted a z, and have been searching for them on and off now and then. i recently passed a lot i drive by everyday and noticed a 72' z there the other day. i went by today and this place is kinda...ya know the typical shaddy lots. but the guy was really nice, and honest about his work etc. he gave me the keys and we started it up. its been repainted red, but it used to be orange as noted in the engine bay. it started up immediatlely and idle perfect. the only thing is there seems to be a constant tapping coming from under the valve cover...w…

Not sure if everyone knew this but sadly, VR Engineering is no longer in business. They've ceased to operate since June 20, 2002. I have a feeling that fewer and fewer Z-vendors will remain in business as time goes by, just like the ever so decreasing quantities on NOS parts. So sad... -Guycali

I have a Japanese exchange student living in our home for the next 2 weeks and if any of you have some Z related items in Japanese that yo would like translated he maybe able to help. As far as cars go he is not up to speed . . . he thought my 71 240 was a Ferrari . . . . . . .

would a later ZX brake booster work or should i say fit. and would it be worth it to upgrade to that booster and master cylinder or just get the stock booster replaced with the later ZX master cylinder

I'm in the middle of putting floors, rockers, repairing the battery tray and underneath, inner fender well patches, rear deck lip, and rad suppport patches, and door skins. all in all I think I made out pretty lucky in comparison to some that needed floors and frame rails!

Wow. You read stories about finding the Porsche in the barn, right? Today I bought a 240Z from *California* that has been in storage since 1987. Best of all, bought it from a friend who bought it new. Last plated in 87, this 71 240z still has the 87 California tags on it. Last turned over two years ago. Towed it to my place today and gave it a quick bath. I will be seeking all of your wise counsel as I embark on bringing this one back from the dead. This is 100 percent original (window sticker in the glovebox!) and I am going to need a lot of help from you. Ordered the CD today and have Ward Humble's book on my lap. What would you do first? i have a Question... i am inheirating a 280z 2+2 that my dad started to put a chevy in about 12 yrs ago. block and tranny r in. it was an automatic so i think that is the strong rearend (correct?)what gears should i run w/ a 350th tranny? what will need to be replaced after these yrs? has been in garage in ca. so not so much rust expected i will need help whith this so i will have more Questions as i find problems i hav not seen it yet so i dont know how much work to expect thanks!!
