Hi all, I have a '73 240Z which I have been trying to source a rear axle flange for. The part which I'm looking for is the flange which holds the inner wheel bearing in place, it is held in place by a 27mm nut and washer. The microfiche CD-ROM lists the item as number 15 on the rear axle diagram and the part number is 43213-E4100 (ASSY-FLANGE COMPANION REAR AXLE) I have tried the parts from a 2 seater 260Z and also from a 2+2 260Z but they aren't the same as the 260s have larger axle splines. There aren't any 240Z which are sold for spares here and I need these flanges so that I can bolt up my half shafts!!! Does anyone know of other Dastun models which uses the same pa…

Very positive review. Length of the header probably will make it necessary to cut and paste into your browser's address bar. http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content.mv?port_code=autoweek&cat_code=coverstory&loc_code=index&content_code=08714922

I have a question for the group regarding wheels spacers and adapters. Does anyone have experience with this type of modification? This web site would be the supplier of the adapter and has information about strenths and materials. WWW.performancewheel.com/adapters.html I'm seriously considering this option as I cannot find more than a handful of wheels that will fit an early model Z that look decent or don't cost tons of cash. My understanding (as explained at the above web site) is the bolt pattern remains a 4 lug pattern and the adapter is rotated 45 degrees off of the existing lugs. The spacing of the lugs can change to whatever you like and the offset becomes p…

when I got my 240z the guy who owned it before me had "re-done" the wiring. it turned out that he had completely messed it up and now the headlights didn't work (well, they turned on , but werent very bright.) I tried to fix it myself but then found out that he hadn't even used the right colored wires. the z cars are renowned for electrical problems. so be sure that all of the electrical components work, beause if they dont it can be a huge pain or money sink to fix

whats up guys, Im new here but have always been a huge fan of Z's. In a town close by a 69/70 240 is for sale. It is listed for 3900 and said to be 99% perf. He mentioned new suspension parts have been added but i dont know if they are aftermarket or not. Now, with these cars, what common problems should i look for? Is 3900 too high even if the car is in great shape? I really want to buy a Z but dont want to go in blind. Any comments are more than welcome! TIA Mike D

I need a little advice from someone who has actually done this. I have a '72 240 (bone stock) and I have recently acquired a '83 ZXb 5-speed, a '76 280Z Mustache Bar and now have access to a 280ZX R200 3.90 and Stub Axles. My car has a curved cross member already. What else (besides a clutch) do I need to complete this conversion. Can I use my propeller shaft or do I need one from a 280Z (have read both ways)? Can I use my half shafts with the 280ZX Output shafts? If not can I use the half-shafts from a 280ZX? I really don't want to take this car apart just to find out I need another part. It has not been easy finding the parts I have (I live in Raleigh, NC). Seems p…

From the original owners manual for a 1972 240Z, it indicates that first gear max. mph is 38, second gear is 60 mph, and 3rd gear is 95 mph. My Z's first gear is winding out at about 15mph, my second is 33 mph, and third is probably around 55 0r 60 mph. It's at the point where I don't use the first gear. What kind of gear speed range are others experiencing?
