i just inherited the family zcar. its a seventy seven 2+2. I learned to drive in this car and want to restore it. I'm looking for info on cost and availability of parts. Are there places to purchase remanufactured parts such as interior (seat covers,door panels, carpets,etc) Are zcar's worth the time and money to restore? Does anyone have a name of a good motor man in the sacramento area? I'd apreciate any info i can get. thanks!

Ok heres the Deal. I had a 82' 280ZX until some lady hit me and destroyed my car. Luckily for me the engine remained intact so I looked around and found a rust free 73' 240Z to put that motor in. I have made a few mods to that motor including a turbo head and injectors for better compression. Anyway I get it into the 240 and the injectors don't want to spit. I've tried everything I can think of (including talking to a buddy who is a Z Mechanic, and replacing the computer) but nothing seems to work. I am about to put a set of webers on but i really would like to get this EFI to work because when i had it dialed in right on the 280zx i was makin about 310HP. Any help is ap…

Hi, I have a opertunity to purchase a 1974 Nissan / Datson 260z 2 - door in excellent condition. Is there a downside to this version of the z? I heard some talk about the carbs used with this engine limits the horse power plus they don't really work well. Is this true? Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

I'm feeling that something is amiss with my 240z as in normal driving I feel as though at about 2000rpm I should change gear. Is this normal ? Also, I've revved her pretty hard but it's quite hard to get up to 6000 and I've only ever been there once - let alone anything higher. It just doesn't *feel* good for the car if you know what I mean. Also, at those high revs it feels like the car runs out of puff... How would you describe the *feel* of a Z at the different rpms ?

When I fill the tank in my '73 I get fumes inside ,and I know that this is not an unusual thing in Z-cars. What my question is . Has anyone eliminated the maze of hoses that go to the evap, tank and caped them off and vented the cap?? I dont need to worry about emissions, and have driven cars for years that were vented in this way with no problem. I read once that if this is done that you will or might, have air pockets in the tank ,and I find this hard to believe. But dont know for sure because I havent tried it. It just seemed to me that it would be a simple solution to a smelly problem. It seems like a design flaw big time ,venting the fueltank inside the passanger com…

Just replaced clutch in 72 Z. Still slipping. Readjusted master cyl rod and slave rod. Has small amount of freeplay when released. So linkage is OK. Old clutch was smoked due to improper master cyl rod adjustment not allowing fluid return. Slips most in 5th (5 spd added long ago). Holds in 1st and 2nd. Common problem? Do I need a better pressure plate? Recommend? Motor is stock 72.
