Racer Tony Adamowicz died yesterday after a battle with cancer. His career spanned from the '60s and included IMSA driving stints in Electramotive's championship-winning 280ZX-T's and Nissan's GTP. http://a2zracer.com/page82.html http://a2zracer.com/page92.html https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Adamowicz

Well, it was fun while it lasted. Yesterday evening I was driving my 240Z down the alley next to my house on my way to the car wash in anticipation of the Midwest Z show today, when I was hit broadside by a Ford Explorer that was speeding down the intersecting alley. I have not heard from an Insurance company, but the firewall is bent, the dash is broken, and the driver's door is within a 1/4" of the steering wheel. Not a fun time. I am back from the hospital now, recovering from a concussion and whiplash.

I picked this little guy up on a recent business trip. He was sitting in a shop in Oslo, Norway and I figured he would be a cool addition to my desk. Apparently trolls are famous in Norwegian culture.... and the Internet.

I received a most amazing and unique gift from my very good friend Keith today (aka Zed2 to this bunch). Its a pristine dealer badge from the dealer where I bought my Z back in '71. I have the badge that was attached to my car at the time of purchase - attached as with Philips head screws. This one is probably a later version after they abandoned the screws in favor of double-stick tape. As such, it looks a bit like automotive jewelry unmarred by unsightly holes. Thanks Keith, you made this a very special day!

Hi All, I'm going to start up a new tech-tips web site. Just trying to think of a good domain name. I have a few but I thought I'd throw it out here as well for your suggestions. Thanks!

I finally bought an early FSM to help better restore #249. I have the '77 FSM for Blue then moved to digital since then but the compression of the online FSM's loose a lot of detail. FYI:

As I write this, I'm watching a condensed "special" 1 hour broadcast of the August 18-20, 2016 Mecum Auctions Monterrey 2016. There was a red '71 240Z (had the louvered rear hatch) that just rolled across the stage, and while the auction for it was progressing, two of the broadcast crew were more or less bickering about it being an automatic and therefore didn't fetch a very high price (I think it went for around $10K; looked really sharp, though). Anyway, as the hammer came down, one of them gave a shout-out to the Classic Zcar Forums as the place to go for everything about Zs. Kinda cool, I thought!
