I am having a tough time finding replacement center caps for my snowflake 15" wheels... Checked with the local Nissan shop and they aren't sure if they are the right ones and they want $20 for each. OUCH! Any ideas?

Hi all, First off I will say that I'm new here and I feel this is an awesome source of information, thank you. A friend of mine has a 1972 240Z and it's sitting with the primer on it right now. He's been putting a lot of work into it lately (lots of body work) and we discuss color and design a bit. I've been slightly educated on foilers and spoilers and their real purposes other than just looks on cars. I'm wondering that if you put a hopped up fast engine into it like we've got in the works...at what point should you put a tail fin on it, and how big/small should it be and how effective will it be? Is it the fact that the bigger the fin, ie. porsche whale tail,…

Hi there. I'm having some trouble with my starter. When I turn the ignition to the start position the starter engages and turns the engine over fine. The problem is that it won't shut off! I thought it may be the celunoid(?) but when I test it with the starter off the car it works fine. I know this points to the ignition switch but, when I take the top connection off the celunoid it stills goes. I thought that the top terminal came from the ignition switch so shouldn't it stop running with that connection off? Could anyone give me some suggestions so I can convince myself that I'm not on glue? Thanks!

Any idea what would cause the engine to keep running after it is turned off? It finally quits. Seems to be worse if the car sits at idle for a while and then the key is turned off vs turning it off immediately after driving it for any length of time. I just got the carbs professionaly rebuilt and tuned on the car. Timing is factory set. Points, plugs, wires, condensor, cap, rotor are all new. Dwell set to factory spec's. All factory ignition parts used.

Any one in the Portland Or. area that is in need of either Harbor Freight has a great price . two 3 ton jack stands $12.00 for the pair and a 21/4 ton floor jack $39.00 and this is one with large steel wheels and not the little caster type . I just thought I would pass on a good buy.

My 240 has slot rims with some off brand center caps that I want to replace with Z caps from MSA. The caps that are in there right now are sort of rigged to stay in place with a cardboard ring behind then that keeps them snug. I'm pretty sure the hole diameter is the right size for the caps they have, but what I'm not sure of is how they attach or which type I should use, or if they will work at all. They have two types - screw on and clip on. I know the backs of my rims don't have any holes for screws, so I guess I'd have to tap them, but they are not very thick. Should I use the clip ons? How exactly do they work? What do they clip on to?

Hi y'all. I'm new to the site (just signed on) and was suggested to say Hi. I have a '70 240Z. Its all stock except for a 5 speed tranny and older American Racing wheels. It has some rust and a snot-load of minor problems, though it is a very strong runner.I grew up around Z cars as my uncle owned a Z shop for years (and probably still does). My favorite thing about the Z is the fact that I can blow those hot-rod Hondas off the freeway at will and do so without the use of computers and fuel injection. The only thing (and I mean ONLY) I have a problem with is a very Stiff suspension (bad back),but this is outwieghed by the car itself so it doesn't really matter. So long fo…

I've been visiting many websites and seen many people talk about switching out their carbs and replacing them with older ones. Is this a common practice? What are the advantages/ disadvantages? What would it cost? Is there a cut-off on the years (ex. up to 76 the carbs are good but after that they're crap) Should an individual with severe income limitations such as myself even consider this? Sorry about all the questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Can anyone tell me what is happening in this picture?

I have seen where people have discussed throttle linkage wear. Does this refer to the intersection points where the throttle linkage penetrates the SU carbs and any associated vaccum leaks at those points?

Has anyone rebuilt the brake booster or is it a better idea to buy a new/rebuilt booster?
