So I've been working with AI for the last several years of my career. Most of my experience is with graphics and video AI. However, after running into this new text-based chat system, called Chat GPT, I decided to give it a try with our Z hobby. Here's some text generated with my inquiry "Tell me the history of the Datsun 240z"

I found this at a yard sale last weekend, $5 and it is flawless. My birth year but if someone in Alabama has a '69 automobile I'd consider letting it go for a "year of manufacture" which is legal in many states. I have a '72 plate on my 240. I took the tag frame off I remembered, looks better to me.

So I noticed a post on Zcar.com asking about finding a shop in the Atlanta area. The owner bought a non-running 280Z, and the previous owner said the car ran fine and suddenly died one day. The PO fired the parts cannon and replaced the fuel pump to no avail. Isn't it funny how the parts cannon doesn't hit the target very often? Fortunately for this 280Z, the new owner is willing to listen to diagnostics and test. First was to see if the car would fire. Yes, it ran on starting fluid. Next establish that the fuel pump runs. Yes, it has fuel pressure, but it's a little low. Constricting the return will build the pressure though. After that check the injectors. Negati…

I've owned my '71 240Z (12/70 build, HLS30 16896) for about 15 years, but it has mostly been in storage. I'm starting the process to get it on the road as a safe driver so I can attend a few meets, etc.. I finally took the time to read through the bag of paperwork that came with my car and along with the original owners manual I discovered that my car was purchased in March of '71 at Morris Motors (changed to Morris Nissan and now known as Charleston Nissan) in Charleston, SC, by A US Naval Academy graduate who became a nuclear submarine captain and he had the Z shipped with him as his command changed. It was shipped to Scotland and Hawaii and finally, to Washing…

2014 ZCON: Z fans, a BIG surprise will be revealed on Aug 7th!Mid 1960s’, before the first generation Fairlady Z, known as Datsun 240Z in US, came out, Mr. Matsuo and his design team already had concept cars for next the generation of Fairl...ady, known as Datsun Roadster in US. Mr. Katayama, president of Nissan USA at the time, gave “go signâ€ for the production of the Z cars when he first met Mr. Matsuo at Nissan Design center in Yokohama. As designing progressed toward production, design team came up with variation of this special sport car: GT Racing version, Targa top, Convertible, Coupe with notch back, 2+2, and station wagon. However, only 2+2 version became p…

I've read time and time again on here about matching proper components with each other. My best example is the hottest motor with old ignition system. I bought a really nice television and after all the hassle of getting it home and hooked through all my stuff was very disappointed with the outcome. I was frustrated and about to box it back up and get a cheaper no frills tv, much cheaper. Then the light bulb flickered in my noggin. I need the newest version cable box from xfinity. It'll be here in a few days so until then I'm watching stuff through the internet source and it's amazing. My eyebrows melted. 20230108_144344.mp4

Just thought I would say 'Hi' to all of the regulars and give a bit of an update. I took a break from the classiczcars site as life has been pretty busy. My wife and I moved last year from San Diego,CA to Boise, ID, so the move in and getting set-up has kept us pretty busy. I also picked up a job that kept me way too busy but that is now in the past. I now consider myself semi-retired and will probably do odd jobs on the side, or perhaps do another resto now that I am mostly settled. Wife says it's hard for me to sit still, so I am sure I will always be doing something. We bought our dream home in the foothills of Boise and we should be here for quite some t…
