I thought I would throw this out to the smartest group of mechanics I know. I am working on a diesel 4 cylinder that is Japanese made and came out of an old New Holland skidsteer. It threw a rod and I am exploring rebuilding it but haven't ever built a diesel before. Anyone here have any experience? These get expensive quick and I don't want to go through all the motions and still not have a running engine...any advice?

Did a double-take when I first saw this Road & Track photo of the new Fiat/Miata/Fiata. Seems vaguely familiar -- maybe they should develop a fastback?! http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/first-drives/news/a29486/fiat-124-qa-review/

Check engine light does not flash when turn on. OBD 1 reader failed. Light bulb is good. ECU is good. Any ideas? Also I attached a Pix, Where does this plug connected? Is part of the Obd 1 connector?

I would like to paint the inside of the garage; specifically, things like the doors, woodwork, and anything you might touch with dirty or oily hands, besides the workbench and plastered walls. Sometimes I even get soot on the garage door if I start the car before opening the door. I would like opinions or experiences with paint that can be cleaned with household cleaner, ("awesome" cleaners, dilute SimpleGreen, etc.) My preference is satin or gloss white, as the place is brighter at night. I considered washable latex, floor/patio paint, and even epoxy garage floor paint.

Went out to see if it had its gas cap. It did, doesn't now (figured out why my tank doesn't "whoosh"). Has some parts left, no engine or transmission (automatic), TC rods, steering gear, front and rear suspension (one drum left), glass, doors (no handles), R180, halfshafts. Bumpers and rear lights are bent up or gone.

Should I bypass everything with my own pump and gas can? Or drain the tank and put some new gas in? I've got an EFI pump and the wiring to a battery, drop the pick up in a 2.5 gal. can and secure the output to the fuel filter in the engine bay. Would that work? Neighbor has an older Sentra I can get for nearly nothing. Id like to crank it and limp quarter mile to my house without much work done from where it is now. Mosquitoes!

Gas prices are down and I made the mistake of stopping by my old friend's boat shop. Bad mistake, this video didn't help either. I used to have a Hydrostream Vector with a Mercury 2.5, 100 MPH boat. We used to do the same thing back when the police liked to have fun, they would radar us and tell us how fast we were going, no speedometers in race boats. 10,000 tach, temperature and water pressure gauge. Here was our drag strip, Turn up the volume and enjoy.

I need your help! I'm looking for information about Datsun Roadsters. I notice that most of the information here is about "Z's". I have a 1967 1/2 Datsun 2000 Roadster. I have had this car for 39+ years sitting in a garage. My plan was to restore this car once I retired but things have come up (health) that have changed my plans. Where is a good place to advertise a Roadster for sale?
