I stumbled across this very cool scale model kit of the fairlady Z in 1/8 scale. The website is in Japanese but there should be a way to translate using online tools. The kit looks fairly detailed and from what I can tell, also comes with magazines and a lot of great photographs. I'll do some more digging but feel free to add your findings below. I'd especially like to hear from any of our Japanese reading/speaking friends. Here's a link to the website in case you missed it in the video: http://www.fairladyz-collection.jp/

I’m so deeply sadden to hear that David Bowie died of cancer yesterday. I just want to express my emotions. He is truly a great talented musician. I still remember when I was a kid in mid 70s the first time listening to his album “Young Americans”.I named my 1972 Datsun 240Z “Ziggy” based on his song “Ziggy Stardust” because when I bought the Z it had one original Koito headlamp and the other was another brand. The lights were two different colour and it reminded me of David Bowie’s distinctive eye colour.R.I.P. David Bowie

Winter in Michigan. Freezing rain followed by hundreds of thousands of tons of salt. Followed by many inches of snow, followed by hundreds of thousands of tons of salt.

Thursday was the monthly meeting for the Georgia Z Club. I use the club meetings as "Drive Your Z to Work" days, weather permitting (and sometimes even if I know the Z might get rained upon). The weather was pretty good, considering it's January, so I was in the Z car. I received one thumbs up on the drive in. That always feels good. On the drive home, I heard the driver next to me honk his horn. I turned to look, and he also gave a thumbs up. Then a little while down the road he got behind me, flashed his lights, and briefly turned on his right turn signal. I figured that he wanted to talk or get a better look at my car. I turned into the next shopping …

The first Sunday of the new year rolled around, and I was up early for Caffeine & Octane. If you live anywhere near Atlanta, you should come out to this monthly event. Here's a description of how the day went for me: https://fiddlingwithzcars.wordpress.com/2016/01/03/rise-and-shine-caffeine-and-octane/

I've been trying to learn sketchup pro all day today. This is my first foray into 3d modeling. I'm trying to have some z things 3d printed. I've tried importing the jpg file and drawing an outline over the top but haven't been successful. Perhaps its the angle of the picture i'm using. I don't know. Anyone got any suggestions? I sure wish i had one of those 3d scanners!
