I am looking at getting out of my FR-S and back in to something with more room and capability. I have seen plenty of guys haul Z's with Toyota Tacoma's, Jeep's, mid-size SUV's, and all the usual full size trucks and SUV's. I am looking at a crew cab Dodge Ram with the gas V6, 8-speed auto, and 3.21 gears. This combo has lots of reports of pulling down real world highway mpgs in the low to mid 20's. The truck has a full towing package on it and a tow rating of 4100 pounds. Seeing that my '71 240z comes in around 2500 pounds and a U-haul car hauler weighs like 2300 pounds, I am already over the limit for the truck. Now I am considering a V8 but almost hate too since 9…

Hi guys, Would any of you be interested in helping out around the club? At this time I could use some help in our events area. I need someone to cruise around the web and find events that can be added to our calendar. We could also use some additional photo coverage in our gallery. Let me know if you're interested and we can exchange numbers so I can take you through the process. Thanks! Mike

I'm spending my summer in San Antonio and check a craigslist auto's from time to time to pick up parts I might need later on. I saw this post http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/cto/5108139230.html The car is completely striped and on a rotisserie with all of the rust repair already done except for two spots on the floor pans. From the pictures he has everything and is offering it all with the rotisserie for only $1300. If that isn't a good deal I don't know what is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I haven't seen much here about ZCON lately and since registration is now open here's the big question: WHO'S GOING??? This is a big one - 45th anniversary and all, and centrally located for a nice change. Yeh, I know - Memphis in July may not be all that attractive. I think it would really be great for fellow members of this site to make arrangements to meet and get personally introduced to each other at ZCON. Being able to associate faces to "handles" would be fun for past threads and future stories. Shucks - we could even work on a group picture! The hotel is booking quickly so if you're planning on going and have not yet made your arrangements - get on …

Howdy Z-folks, I've been off and on the site for a lot of years now. I've owned my 280Z for over 13 years, gotten to know every nut and bolt on it, a few times, in some cases. Needless to say, I prefer to do my own wrenching. I just moved to Yakima, WA, and signed a six-month lease on a place where I can't work on my car...anyone out there know of any shops or garages that rent space nights/weekends for light maintenance/projects? No lift or anything needed, this is my daily driver, and I won't be disassembling anything I -hopefully- can't reassemble pretty quickly...I know I'm overdue on an oil-change, but happy to report that after driving 3800 miles cross-country(scen…

Honda Insight Update: It is actually fun going slow on 3 cylinders with 12 valves. Just did a valve lsh adjust and same work as in a Z Beautiful valve train in that thang: 4 valves per cylinder off 1 cam with rollers and one intake valve is hydraulicly controlled.

John Engelke wrote on Classic Z Car Club's wall: What color and type of coating was the underhood hardware (engine bolts, plug wire holders, vacuum line brackets, etc.) on a 75 280Z? I want to get mine refinished and go original. Silver or gold colored coating? (5 comments) View the full article
