Local Motors has produced the first drivable 3D printed car in 44 hours. Actually only the body was printed and assembly is not included in the 44 hours, but still impressive. Local Motors Takes Their Single-Print 3D Printed Car for a Test Drive - SolidSmack

I posted this over on the FR-S/BRZ site I am a member of and thought you guys might like to see it too. As I shared a few months ago with my post about buying my 1971 240z a request was made to provide a comparison between it and my 2013 FR-S. Now, that might sound like Deja-vu since you probably know that several magazines and various media outlets did this same comparison around the launch time of the FR-S. So this will not be another rehash of how a 40+ year old Japanese sports car ranks against a modern Japanese sports car. What I am going to give you are my thoughts on owning and driving both of these machines that are great in their own right. The key word in t…

Just noticed that the Velocity channel show "Garage Squad" will be airing a Datsun episode tomorrow (Friday 8/15) night at 9 P.M. Eastern. Here is the synopsis: "Jason is a motorcycle mechanic with a big car problem. He owns a rare Datsun 240z, number 89 off the line with serious problems under the hood and in the interior. Can the Garage Squad team help this owner get his beloved Datsun back on the road?" Just thought I would post this to let everyone know so they can watch/DVR it. Edit: Just noticed that the title shows 9/14, this should be 8/15. Hopefully a mod can fix this.

Hello All! I have rebuilt what I think is a Series I 240Z Clutch Master Cylinder made by Nabco (5/8" bore) for my 12/70 built car. After rebuilding and installing I noticed that it touches the Windshield Washer Bottle. Having said that, I consulted the Factory Service Manual and it shows a cross section illustration for two separate and distinct profiles (see attached images). On page CL-6, Figure CL-15, the reservoir is shown being located in the center area of the Master Cylinder. Yet if you refer to page CL-7, Figure CL-16, you will note that the reservoir is at the frontmost portion of the Master Cylinder. I have tried to research other threads, but there seems to b…

There is quite a bit of hype around some photos we received from the Zcar Convention currently going on in San Diego, CA. The photos were of this cool little prototype car, a never released Zcar Wagon. While I genuinely thought they should have released the car and called it a Zagon, there are others who may not agree with the design styling. Here are some pretty neat photos from the Zcar Convention showing off this car at the NISMO booth. See it on our Facebook group page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/classiczcars

Does anyone know where the 2015 ZCON will be held?
Last reply by siteunseen, -
It has been well publicized that Z CON 2014 will be held in beautiful sunny San Diego 5-9 August 2014. Because of this Motorsport Auto will not put on the annual Z Car Nationals Car Show in April Motorsport! West Coast Nationals - The Z Store, Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts. They will however will have a get together on Saturday; I have attended those in the past and they are fun for the So-Cal guys. Z CON 2014 promises to be a great event; we expect to have the most Z cars ever assembled in one area. Registration for the convention will open on 15 January ZCON 2014 , the host hotel is sold out but we do have overflow hotels availab…

Hey guys, My name is Matt and I'm looking to gain a little bit of insight from Classic Z Cars. A little background about myself, I am 25 years old, have been a rwd, Japanese car fanatic my entire life, and have owned almost every affordable rwd, Japanese sports car I can think of in some model year or another. (other than maybe a supra). Anyway having owned all of these seems to be a gift and a curse in deciding what to buy next. I have recently got a serious bug about purchasing a classic jdm type vehicle with my main focus is on a 240/280Z. However, I do not know if my price point is a realistic grounds for finding one mechanically sound (cosmetics aside other than …

Han Solo posted about this, and someone mentioned it on zcar.com. It's 240Z number 89, apparently. Watching them talk about how it really needs new plug wires and distributor cap, and various other upgrades will make you cringe, but sill surprising that it's in such good shape. What they showed anyway. https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/open-general-discussions/52869-240z-velocity-channel-friday-9-14@9p-m-et.html The video: Garage Squad: A Parked Datsun 402 : Velocity

For the past several weeks my one owner 79 280zx has been listed for sale in the classifieds section. It sold a few days ago and I must admit I had a tear in my eyes as I watched it drive away, knowing that in all likelyhood, I'll never see it again. I had envisioned that it would be sold to a local here in Colorado, that I would still get occasional glimpses of it and that it might even be involved in our local Z Car Club. Today, it is in a shipping container on its way to a new owner in Saudi Arabia. I know car guys and gals are the same worldwide - whether they're in England, Australia, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, The U.S. or Saudi Arabia, we are a world wide fraternity wi…
