I can't help but admit this is a bit self serving, but how many of you routinely check the datsunclassifieds for parts your are looking for? I tend not to post parts for sale here, but just did post one over 'there' and wonder how active sales are? I will not post a link to the ad in an effort to convince you that this is a valid question that deserves some feed back. Perhaps admin Mike will appreaciate some discussion here. I really like the hybridz approach of just having for sale and WTB ads just be part of the daily posts that come and go. Since I always start the day with a "what's new" click, it would be great if any new ads on datsunclassified where just a si…

Many of you have already noticed that I started an online Z car registry using a public spreadsheet called EditGrid. It can be found here: http://www.editgrid.com/user/mlwilliams/Z_Car_Registry The good news is that anyone can add or update this list at any time. The bad news is that anyone can update this list at any time. I just had to roll it back to an older revision; it looks like someone might have tried to sort the list and it didn't work properly. I knew there was a problem because my VIN no longer was right; it had shifted in the list. I just added instructions at the top to help prevent that problem in the future. I apologize for any inconvenience this will…

I was helping my dad with his '65 Impala SS today. We just wanted to set the idle. It has Edlebrock 9906 4 barrel carb with idle set screws on each side (one for front barrel on passenger side and one for front barrel on drivers side). The exhaust is split on each side from the manifold back so there is independence. When adjusting the carb's idle, I found that each jet affected both sides. I am guessing the intake was where some mixing was going on. The car was also tilted ~ 5 degrees due to the floor of the garage failing (hillbilly is doing some body work where we tuned in situ). To get balanced O2 readings on each pipe at idle, the edlebrocks needed the lower side …

I've posted an ad through the Classifieds site but have been unable to include my jpeg photos with the ad. I get an error message saying that is an unacceptable file format. My photos are in "my pictures" library of Windows. Any suggestions? Thanks, Larryb 79 280 AZ and 72 240Z

Never washed his car because he feared rust? If only there were z owners out there like this guy. Somewhere out there i hope is a 1970 series 1 240z that has 44 years of dust instead of rust on it. 1969 Shelby GT500 goes to auctioned off after 40 years in storage | Digital Trends Years ago, 1985 to be exact, I had an encounter with a green 69 cobra just like this one but it was kind of rough shape. The guy said he paid 30K for it then. It had original paint and original upholstery. The fiberglass hood had cracks and the fiberglass fenders were wavy. My job was to repair the bodywork and prep it for paint. It took me 2 months to get straight. The owner went on to…

Hello Everyone! My name is Ash, I am a new member and new Z owner. I restore 1981 BMW e21 for past 4 years and last week found this beauty 1977 280Z for $1200 it was seating in the barn for past 6 years. I cleaned fuel tank, new wires, radiator, plugs, tires, brakes and etc.... Now, I have a rough idle and rich misfire. I found a hose that was plugged (bolt inside the hose) the hose goes to Timing advance distributor three way hose. Thus, I have a feeling my car is running advance all the time because of this hose. Now, I am trying to find where do I need to plug in or am I missing a component couldn't find it. Why this hose is plugged at the first place. I've spent hours…

I just saw this listing: 1970 Datsun 240 Z Race Car WR Showroom It claims to be the Macau Grand Prix car. The back ground story appears correct. The listed VIN number is also correct. Interesting car, but is it really worth $70K? Marty

But I haven't seen one Z yet:( I thought this was where they were hiding! It is freaking hot out here. No wonder you CA boys are adamit about getting AC. Freeways are crazy as well as the drivers - I think I will stay in indiana , but definitely liking the visit. My boy is swimming Jr. Nationals in Irvine. Oh - we also had our first run in with the CHIPS! Boys jumped in the car after the meet and we went a block and the CHIP pulled us over for no seat belts in the back. Welcome to CA

I ask to the well verse Z aficionados , I lately have seen some real clean early Z's with late LS1/LS2 GM engine transplant and ask , does this increase or decrease the value on this Japanese classic car .
