So I've been seriously tempted in buying and try my hand at MIG welding for some time now. The problem is, I don't have the slightest idea on what welder to buy. My welder budget is about $350. I've read than getting anything below 20%-40% duty cycle is just useless. I'm not sure to take a risk and get a no name welder like this one, NEW MIG WELDER WITH GAS 195AMPS 220V $250.00 or get anything from CL at all. I've seen some pretty tempting welders like these (Need to call to get specs) Lincoln Weldpac mig welder May buy new instead since new goes for around $40(?) more if I do decide to go with this one. Craftsman MIG Welder This one... Lincoln 135 mig welder Or just get…

Apparently none of the auto magazines "get" the Honda CRZ hybrid. I "get" it. With the flip of a button you can go from a 45mpg hyper-miling gas-sipper to a zippy little sports car. The CRZ offers the best of both worlds, IMHO, and I urge you to test drive one. Be sure and try "SPORT" mode! But learning how to GET 40-50mpg out of a hybrid is more than just coasting up to stoplights. You constantly have to think about energy management, and frequently "lug" the motor. Mind you, I'm not the kinda guy accustomed to lugging a DOHC Honda motor at 45mph in sixth gear. Yes, SIXTH. But that's how you get the superb mileage. Let the battery and the ELECTRIC motor bo…

This is very disturbing! These are holes on both sides of the car that are rusted completely through. I just found these the other day when I was under the car replacing my oil pressure gauge sensor. I would expect holes like this on a 240z, but these are on my 2005 Altima SE-R!!

Just wanted to share a quick story of my recent experience with Brock Racing Enterprises. I ordered 3 of their medium size long sleeve shirts a few weeks ago. I was careful not to wash or dry them at too high of a temp but they shrunk down a full size, to the point they were too tight in my chest and shoulders. I emailed BRE about it asking if anyone had reported the same experience and if there was anything they could do for me. Alison promptly wrote me back letting me know they had not heard of anyone else having this experience but was disappointed to hear what happened to me. She asked if I sent the shirts back she would give me 50% off some large shirts and ship…

My friend took this picture and said I could post it. Someone carved a 370Z out of ice this year. I'll be there tonight and I'll try to get a better picture. Bill's going there today to shoot too. He said that maybe next year they could do my 240Z race car in ice. That would be cool! Chuck

I have a box full of old stock 240z and roadster gears etc. for transmissions. Unfortunately about half of them do not have parts numbers on them anymore and since it has been 30 years since I last rebuilt one I cannot remember ! Would anyone be able to take an educated guess if I were to send pictures and sizes? Thank you, CB

Are you kidding me? Bought a 2012 Chevy Sonic Turbo and it was due for it's second oil change-which I wanted to do. I've done nothing but drive this car, which is weird for me being a car guy. So I thought I would change the oil and poke around. I could NOT get the oil plug off:mad: I have NEVER had a car that I couldn't get the plug out-never! It is a small drain plug that has a 10mm socket head. I managed to trip the head trying to break loose the nut . WTF I couldn't budge the thing. I even tried tapping the wrench with a dead blow to break it loose. What the hell did they use to put it on -an impact wrench? taking to the dealer to let them mess with it. It's just mind…

Hi all Are there any Hybrid Z Admins also lurking on here? I used to have an acct to that site, lost/forgot my password, emailed the admin link asking to have it reset and never heard back from anyone... Can anyone with a working account lend me a hand? I posted in the S30 Parts Swapping Section here that I am looking for a pair of ZX Automatic 4 bolt companion flanges and wanted to post something similar on Hybrid Z to see if anyone out there has a set? Thanks for your assistance if you can help me out... -e

All this time, when I want MPG, I let the AT shift itself (about 2200 to 2nd and 2500 into 3rd, when easy on the gas pedal), but maybe I had it all wrong. After all, stick usually beats AT for mpg. Because of shifting at a higher rpm? For performance, I shift about 4700 - per dyno run and the operator's advice - for my setup, sorta stock - this worked well at the strip, beating reported best times for AT stocker by a couple secs. So when to shift for economy? To stay in the best torque zone? Guess it would would be similar for a stick, a little different with 1 or 2 more gears. Concerned with around town driving, on the highway wind resistance (increase per square of …
