Well Guys!!!!! fantastic news!!! my KPGC110 fibreglass replica grill and front/rear spoiler has touched down in sydney (THANKS SOOOOO MUCH MILES!), and i am just holding my breath until Australia Post delivers! when i get hold of them, i will take some photo's and then start arranging to get them sent off to a fibreglasser (probably the guy in melbourne) to make moulds. I am not sure if he will be doing the front grill (i assume it is going to be quite awkward), but maybe i should start getting a show of hands to who wants what, I am afraid that this guy may not get around to making the moulds for ages unless there is some interest, and i want to get them back sooner rath…

sorry to go into this again but i just recieved an email from stewart Wilkins after i asked them about strengthening up the 240k. Basically he stated that the 240k body is already very strong, and doesn't need stitch welding along the suspension towers. He did recommend a roll cage (which we all expected) and a front strut brace. He said that if there was a weakness, it could be that the layers in the chassis rails may seperate, so that if the bottom seam was fused together it would enormously increase it's strength. now i am not 100% sure where he is talking about, can anyone give me a clue? I was looking at the rails in the engine bay (right under the firewall) on…

I cant seem to find my 240 keys and I need to move the car. Whats the easy way to open the doors? I'm goign to try and make me one of those lock pickers (jigglers) might take a while to practice though. Screw driver will definitely damage the lock as well as a brick through the quarter window...trying not to damage anything. Anyone tried breaking in with their own 240ks? Need this done this weekend Thanks in advance

You're right, a new thread is much better idea! In the case of Oz cars there wasn't a problem with the ID as each car had the option codes on the build plate. Those determine what the car is from a legal standpoint eg ALL Ford Falcon GT's are build code JG33 for a 4dr and JG66 for a 2dr, Chrysler had E38, E49 to id engines etc The Japanese cars didn't have this level of detail in the ID plate so Freds C110 GT has the same code as Joes C110 hardtop (both are KHGC110). Thus the insistence from Federal Transport that the manufacturer ID it by description in the ADR plate. Whether there was much (or any) difference between the physical cars wasn't in question since that …

I wanted to wait a while till I had some better shots to show you all but they may be a while longer than I thought so this is what it looks like at the moment. I feked the front guards by sanding them flat while on the bench, they look like they are from another car, the gaps between the doors and guards are 1cm apart:stupid: guess that what happens when a sales rep tries to be a panel beater. Anyway thats one for the real panel beaters to fix when it goes in for a proper spray job. If anyone has to good straight guards let me know. I'm going to register it with the std engine and interior in it as I just can't bear to have it sitting in the garage anymore. I have a un…

Hi guys, Been a while but it's good to see the 240K scene is alive & well. For those of who you recall my last 240K coupe (green/blue w/black bonnet), I'm glad to say it has been located just 10 klms from my house! A little background story to this car goes like this; 1. Originally I located it as a gold coupe in Wantirna, Melbourne & I didn't have money to purchase. 2. My friend (let's say Jim) bought the car minus engine, trans, etc. 3. When I went to Jims house, I asked him if he wanted to swap my 240K sedan for the coupe; he agreed & used the sedan as a rally car (still does). 4. I repaired the coupe, sprayed body & fitted motor/trans, etc &…

While searching through hybridz i came across this, http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=918857#post918857 It seems that a chrysler 318/340/360 will bolt straight into a 240z with it's standard mounts, and I'm assuming that it would also go straight into a K. when I trial fitted my block it was very close to fitting in but I had engine mounts that were for a chrysler 6cyl crossmember not the std v8 crossmember ones (i had pulled out my 225 and dropped in the 318). It was so close, if I had seen this sooner I could have saved myself a few $ but then wouldn't have the rack & pinion. If anyone has a K they're doing up in brisbane and wants to put a V8 in it let me…
