OK, so my right fender mirror came with some ugly rot mould stuff on it. Looked like crap, and affected visibility too. I always kinda just put it on the backburner as I couldn't be arsed doing it. But two days ago, I decided that I'd get it replaced. So I rang up the "Mirrors 4 Cars" bloke that drives his van around the coast replacing car mirrors. He happened to be in Perth on holiday and would get back in 2 weeks time. Bugger that, and it was $50 per mirror too (though he said he'd do it for $70 cos I had to wait). So I looked and no one else specialised in it, but I heard that any old mirror shop can cut you a piece. So I rang a random glass place and they said come o…

Was talking to a fellow WA Z Cars member at the Z meeting on the weekend. He said that he sometimes does some work out at Sims metals. Sims Metals for those that dont know, are a scrap metal mob, that offer cash for old cars. They usually collect them with a truck that has a crane for picking them up, then they crush the crane down onto the roof to hold the car in place, and pick up a few other cars and stack them ontop of the other cars and drive them back to the yard where they are unloaded, and wait to be crushed into scrap metal cubes and, I think, sent overseas. Anyway he was saying that he was there one day, and spotted a 240K coupe, it was a 5 speed manual, didnt …

I got a 240K recently. It has a L28 in it. Oil pressure gauge reads 0 all the time. Doesn't move at all when the ignition is switched on or off. I suspect the engine has oil pressure, it would probably be dead by now if it doesn't. But i want to be sure before i start driving it regularly. So i'm guessing either the gauge or the sender unit is faulty. If I take the lead off the sender and ground it should the oil gauge go up? Does the resistance of the sender unit go up or down as oil pressure increases? Cheers, Craig.

This is not 240K specific, as IIRC the Z (and most other cars) are the same in this respect. Glass scratches. You may recall I posted a while ago asking if there was any way to repair those small streaking scratches that are barely noticeable but really annoying for the car owner. Well, it's only getting worse, and the cause must be this felt that rides against the window when rolling it up and down. I thought I'd see if I could replace this stuff. I've included a couple of pictures and a diagram (the red part is what I'm talking about) to let you know what I'm talking about. I bought some stick-on felt stuff from a hobby store and have cut it to fit (shown in one of the…

Hey, Well it looks like i may be in the market for a new radiator soon. I arrived home today, only to step out of the car and realise the radiator was dribbling coolant! It seems to have stopped now, but certainly it could be a problem. I know recently Lachlan had to replace/repair his radiator. What did you end up with lach, and how much did it cost? Performance of said radiator? I was interested to know of the best radiator repair/recondition/replace establishments in perth? Does anyone have any reccomendations. And do aluminum radiators cost a whole lot more than standard (steel?) ones - are they worth it? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Tom

I have been a reader of the threads here for a while but this is my first post. My name is Brian and I live in San Diego, Ca. I have a '71 Skyline that I brought in from Japan late last year. I have pretty much torn it down and rebuilt most of the essentials. My car, like most other KGC10's, is a full GT-R clone. It is actually a GT-X with the power windows and such. The drivetrain was pretty much standard when I got it but now there is an RB26 in it's place. The suspension is full comp now with 17 x 8 front and 17 x 9 rear wheels shod with race tires. I pulled out the Nismo R180 and installed a Kaaz R200 with 280ZX turbo C.V. joints and a full 5 lug conversion us…
