240K Skyline

Decided to start a new thread on the L-series engine. From what I've read on another forum, the L-series engine was developed by Nissan and was continually refined and upgraded, ending with the L-28. The G8 (S-20) engine was developed by Prince and this engine eventually gave birth to the RB series engines found in later Skylines. Any thoughts?

Well, unfortunately I haven't got the time or resources to get my 'Skyline' where I want it, so I'm offering it up for sale. It's a 1977 240k GL Automatic sedan. Car is in good mechanical condition and was last registered on the 10th of January 2004. Body is in reasonable shape with no rust. Minor dents in every panel. Interior is good except for dash which will need repairing/replacing. VIN is L28235044 I'm located in Canberra, Australia and will take any reasonable offer. Hi, I'm about to sell my left kidney to buy a set of 16*8 & 16*8.5 Watanabe's (with my 15% discount) What I'm unable to determine is the colour, I want the black ( gun metal ) looking rims with polished lip, but I don't know what Wantanabe calls this colour, I have found this link http://www.watanabe.com.au/page4.html they have Black Matt black Gloss black the Magnesium colour looks like it almost the same as the black but a little lighter, can anyone give me a insight into what I need. thanks, Nigel

I have a pair of rear brake drums that came spare with my 240Z when I bought it, but were lost in the deep dark cave known as the "garage" some time ago. I found them again the other day and thought why not swap them into the 240K? They look fairly identical except the Z has heatsink shims around the drum. Before I go ahead and do it, is it ok??? I don't see how it could be a problem, but I thought I better ask. Here are some pictures. Both are marked with MAX. DIA. 230.0MM, 9.055 as shown in the second image.

Hi Guys, Just wondering if any of you have done any suspension work to your cars to help them handle better on the road/track. I have some real concerns that after i do my RB25/30 swap, the front is going to be a lot heavier and understeer a lot more (that is... if the car ever gets traction) So far i have the following (suspension wise) Front: height adjustable shocks (C210 i believe) Whiteline BDF33 swaybar Whiteline SPF1224K bushes Rear: Munroe GT shocks Whiteline BDR5 swaybar Depending on what size rims that i get (hopefully 15/16" watanabe if i EVER find some), i will lower the car accordingly. Fellas, I may be able to source the above from another supplier. As I can't get my hands on the original moulds anymore, this gentleman has suggested getting a ballpark figure of how many sets of these would be sold if he made moulds up from my old flares. Apparently making the moulds is expensive, so he won't bother doing this for just 1-2 sets. An expression of interest would be good from anyone who would purchase these. I'll then provide him with how many sets people want and he can decide from there whether it's worth his while. By the way, I was able to buy mine (set of 4) for $140 last year, not sure on the going price this time round. Feedback appreciated, James.

Hello all, I was just investigating under the hood, and decided to take off the cam cover. I found that the cam had a stamped E30 on there. Anyone know why this cam is on a N42 L28? Doesnt this cam belong to a 240z? Also, I was wondering if anyone knew a way to check the liter of the pistons without taking the head off? I'm not sure if my engine has been bored to a 3L.
