Tokico Illumina Shocks: ----------------------- Looks like most current owners of Tokico Illumina's keep them set on one position most of the time. It doesn't seem to me that these are the kind of things you'll be adjusting often. Disadvantages: 1- Convenience. Don't expect to switch the suspension on the fly. I don't think you'll be able to say, "Oh, hey... look! There's a corner. Let me adjust my shocks." (faint sound of a car screeching to a halt, a door slamming, and the cussing of some guy trying to adjust his shocks on the side of the 2-lane coast highway) - Probably won't happen. 2- Price. These things are spendy. Average price is $50 more than…

After it came up in a recent thread regarding JDM 240Z tail lights, I was asked if I could document and post the wiring changes needed to use JDM/Euro (amber bottom) tail lights in a US 240Z. Here it is, in amplified form. First lets define the US rear lighting, which is different than what Nissan used for the rest of the world. Here is a picture to illustrate which bulbs do what: And for comparison, most of the rest of the world got lights configured like this: The issue has always been that if you install the JDM lenses (amber bottom) with US wiring, you have both red and amber lights as both brake and flashers. Not optimal, to say the least. …

Hello all, My hoses had dried up, they were cracked and if I touched them they would fall apart in my hands. I replaced them with 1 1/2 ich flexible sump pump hose and connected them to the heater box with 1 1/2 inch ABS fittings. Perfect fit and the hoses are flexible enough to go around the different components under the dash. As for the oblong ports on the heater box, I used 2 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inch reducer ABS fittings. I put them in a vise and slowly heated, the 2 1/2 inch end of course, with a propane torch while tightening the vise. I put a 1 1/2 inch ABS pipe in the fitting to prevent it from deforming. They took an oblong shape and fit perfectly on the port…

Doing brakes on my Honda Insight. Everything is Aluminum and this causes a lot of dissimilar metal corrosion. Sadly I broke a brake bleeder on the 2nd caliper I was rebuilding. I dug around and found this fix. I hope it helps others: Napa sell them too. http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Result.aspx?Ntt%3dbleeder%2bscrew%2brepair%26Ntk%3dKeyword%26Nty%3d1%26Dn%3d0%26D%3dbleeder%2bscrew%2brepair%26Dk%3d1%26Dp%3d3%26N%3d0

ok, so I need some help here. I am working on restoring a '75 trans am, and recently took out the dash and all of the wiring from their corresponding resting places. In a lapse of judgement, I did not take any pictures, or label any of the plugs as to where they were to be returned. (incredibly stupid, I'm well aware) I've been in there for a day already trying to get everything plugged back in, but i'm still not sure where most of them are supposed to be plugged in, and all of the wiring diagrams I can locate might as well be in french. Does anybody have pictures or anything of where everything is supposed to plug in, or know of a site that might be able to help me? I de…

Hello everyone! I hope this article is informative to you. Please refrain from posts until I am done, approximately 10 posts. The main reason for this project for myself was because: 1. Previous owner had replaced the 90 degree hose on top of the tank with non-fuel hose and it was rotted and leaking gasoline. This HAD to be fixed one way or another. 2. Gas tank was 35 years old and, although I have never had issues with rust in the fuel lines, I know if not treated, the tank on the outside and inside would eventually rust (further). I already knew the gas tank on the outside top was rusty. 3. I enjoy working on my Z and if I can make it stronger than original and …
