I live in New Jersey and have 78 Z car. Is anyone aware of a shop that will re-plate my yellow chromate parts, e.g. fuel rails, etc.?

there is a mention in the owners manual about a low oil pressure light? this is addition to the oil pressure gauge. I never saw a provision for a light like that in my 75.

I am in the process of restoring a 1973 240z. It is powered by an L28 (twin 3 screw round top SU) with a 5 speed gear box. The engine has been completely rebuilt and is now back in the car. I was in the process of refinishing various parts including the fuel filler and cap so I did not want to use the fuel tank as a source. Instead I supplied fuel from a 2 gallon jerry can, I do not know precisely how much fuel was in the can. Thankfully the engine started almost immediately. As you know there is some fiddling to be done when you don’t have an electrical harness and your remote starting while trying to adjust carbs and timing. Well, it was really a very short t…

Can anyone help me find out the country of first sale of HLS30-00957 ? I bought this car some years ago in British Columbia, Canada, and am in the middle of a restoration from the shell - up, with a full repaint in the original 918 orange. I was told by the seller that it was originally an Oregon car, but there is no documentation of that. I have tried to go through the Oregon DMV but they require the name of the person that it was registered to way back when, and I do not have that info. They cannot search on the VIN, since there was no computerized database of car registrations back in the 1970s. I have written to Nissan in Japan and received back a nice …

Hey all, you guys have been very helpful in the past so I figured I'd see what you all think about this Z I found. Expired BaT listing here: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-datsun-240z-75/ Looks like it didn't hit reserve at $7,250, and the current CL price is $10,500. I actually like the look of the G-nose on this one, and I'm not too concerned with low number cars or originality. Obviously, the interior needs some work, but other than that is there anything that particularly stands out? What would a good price be?

Hi, I have a 78z that somehow has 0 rust anywhere except the rear foot of the right frame rail. The bottom of the frame rail is rusted out down there for a good 8 inches. The other frame rail is perfect, with no rust. Floor pans are new. No rust on the suspension or body. So don't really want to scrap it ?. Not sure how it rusted in only that one spot also. But onto my question. I should mention that I am new to dealing with rust, so am seeking guidance here. Would it be better to buy 2 new frame rails and weld the both on or do you think I can just cut that section in the back down to good metal and rebuild those last 8 inches of it? I can weld pretty well but I do …
