Hi All, I just purchased a 1970 240Z with a build date of 6/70 and #6094. I am going to do a frame off restoration back to original as it left the factory. The previous owner installed dual Webers and put the SU's aside (which I have) and threw out the linkage. My question is which balance tube would have been on the car from the factory? And is that the one currently on the car? Thanks in advance!

Their (knowing) choice of words, btw. Seems like Bring A Trailer has played a big role in market behavior. https://www.hagerty.com/articles-videos/articles/2018/09/20/datsun-240z-values-show-appreciation

Participants in the project are as unlikely as the subject matter, but it all seems to come together very well! http://www.speedhunters.com/2017/11/gas-monkey-garage-goes-jdm/

My Sahara Gold 1971, which I was rebuilding the entire undercarriage, upgrade the motor with a mild race cam, a set of triple Mikuni´s and a Z-Story Exhaust system etc. are finally ready for some indian summer rides.. All in all, it has been a blast, working on this project and the numbers of trial and error are to a minimum. as for all work, there will be some small adjustments, and I think I´m through them all, at this moment. The last small things was done this afternoon in my workshop, and was attended the front and rear number rubber, as I took the bumbers of, I decided to delete the horns at the front, and before putting the new rubber corners on, I cleane…

I may have found a NOS dash for my '70 I am restoring. I have done a little research about preventing cracks and I am curious if anyone has any updated information they care to add. This is what I plan to do: Store the car in a temperature controlled room that has very little temperature fluctuation. The garage has heat and and AC. Cover the dash and/or windshield when you are parked in the sun. Treat it with Vaseline? Don't use Armor All or similar products. Does anyone have any other advice?

@rossiz A year or two ago you were talking about adding a rear wiper on you Z, did you ever do that? I found these and was wondering if they were the 280zx rear wiper that was needed... I found these the other day when I was cleaning up the shop.

I am interested in seeing how some of you guys who have installed Dynamat or similar materials in your 240Z did it. I am particularly interested in the rear of the cabin. Did you stop at the edge of the 2 compartments or did you install it over the doors? Pics would be most appreciated. Thanks! Jay

Needed to swap in a new AT modulator, and pull the pan to change the ATF. Usually I use ramps but couldn't drive up on them since ATF was low due to the bad modulator. Used the stock jack that came with the car and a jackstand to change the modulator. The stock jack is OK for changing a tire but doesn't raise the car enough to work under it very well. So bought a 6 ton hydraulic jack and tried using that yesterday to pull the pan. But I had to use the stock jack first to get the car high enough to get the new jack under the frame rail. So did that, and then removed the stock jack, jacked it up some more and placed the raised jackstand next to it. Working under the c…

1977 280z that I'm working on. P79 head and MSA header. Did a lot of searching and can't find a definitive answer. My question is should I use all studs or studs and bolts on the intake and exhaust manifolds. I did email Pallnet with the same question and his response was " I've always replaced the exhaust hardware with all studs", nothing about the intake. Would appreciate your input. Thanks
