My friend Aaron sent me a link to a Z for sale up in Harrisburg on Sunday. I took a quick look at some pictures and told the guy that I'll get it on Monday. It's a 1-owner car. Everything is original except for the wheels, header (stock manifold included) and radio. It came with Clymer and Chilton manuals, owners manual and the manual for the Craig cassette player. The car has been parked and stored inside since 1983. A couple of the hose clamps aren't original and the dash has a couple cracks. The worst rust is the rear wheel arches. I have some NOS quarters that were put on my parts car so they'll go on this one. The hatch area is rock solid. The hood, doors and hatch a…

I have a new Pertronix 2 Igniter and Flamethrower 2 coil I would like to install in my 10/71 1972 240z. Car currently has Pertronix 1 and 1.5 coil that is wired to ballast resistor. How do I bypass the resistor? I know to attach red igniter wire to positive coil and black igniter wire to negative coil. Do I attach black/white wire on previous coil to new coil positive side with igniter red wire? Then can the other black/white and green/white wire be attached to the same post on resistor to bypass them? Condenser at distributor is unplugged, what about condenser at coil can it be removed? I attached a picture of current set up of Pertronix 1. Thanks f…

So I recently discovered that Z Specialties in Snohomish has closed permanently. I needed to know if there is any other shops that are still doing work on older 280Z's in the Washington State area? Thanks

New member. Middle aged guy who's always loved Z's. I remember trying to convince my mother (million years ago) that I needed that 1972 240z. Needless to say that discussion ended quickly. Life moves on, get a career, my lady, 3 kids and years pass by. Dreams of a Z aren't the highest of priorities but as many know, those dreams come back and I for one am a bit of a believer of "fate". Fate is that at work my Technical Project Manager came to me one day and said "Say I hear you like car projects". I chuckled a bit but then I heard that it was a Z and that old dream file cabinet in back of my head was dusted off and opened back up. He just wanted it to "be gone…

Hi I am looking at selling my 74 260z and would like some input from the community on what it should go for. It’s got a good amount of modifications which I understand can sometimes limit your potential buyers. Here is a list of the significant mods. Thanks for looking and if you have any questions please ask. I've been working on my favorite car ( The 240Z ) for a few years now. It's finally driveable. I knew nothing about working on cars when I started. Engine work, electric, body work, etc. I learned everything. I did probably 97, 98 % of the work myself. I never touched a spray gun before I painted this car. I painted it the same way and the same colors as the car I owned 50 years ago. I owned a 71 Z back then and this one is a 71. I'm trying to find out the vin no. of the one I owned before. The paint job turned out really nice. The whole car looks 100 times better in person. I still have all kinds of goodies to put on it. I still have some work to do to it, but I'll be do…

Do any of you guys have dimensions on these pieces? Its basically the only part I dont have for the car, them and a gas pedal assembly! I have plenty of various stock at home and for the 25 us plus shipping I could just make them in about an hour if I had dimensoins.... Bolt hole widths are a no brainer since the holes are on the chassis but I need elevation numbers... https://zcarsource.com/rear-transverse-link-mounting-bar-set-240z-260z-280z-71-78-used Thanks EH

Further evidence that it doesn't have to be factory stock to bring in the cash. https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__bringatrailer.com_listing_1971-2Ddatsun-2D240z-2D51_&d=DwIFAg&c=IBOdtJkw7mis4tB3vCHqFQ&r=YmH3VJ9e1DCx9GHaRacx37TOIutCumzjaAks3ERqjrw&m=n8CV6MPCRh9JvPy08CF7GF2ZHgqbqkpISw3pIhFjkD0&s=LvWnQwSas0ZlFvzoAE-398jHUhH-C61lkvBxZB542m8&e=

I am running a 15x8 zero offset on my 280 with 225-50’s without issue. I am looking to purchase some Rota RB’s for my project 240 in the same size but they do not offer 0 offset. Curious to know what you guys are running (without flares) in a 15” size wheel. They do offer a +4 that I could probably get away with, if not add a small spacer. Thanks for the input. Jay
