Whelp, I removed the spindle pin from the lower control last night ( don't use an air chisel if you wish to reuse the spindle ) , and my strut fell to the ground! After further investigation, the Strut Insulator rubber is cracked clean in half. I have read forums, called auto parts stores, and searched the various online Z-car stores, with no finds for the rear. I am going to pull an Insulator from a part vehicle I have , but I don't have high hopes for its condition. Does anyone know of an aftermarket source for the Rear Strut Insulators ? Good news though, I finally got the Front Suspension is done! wheels mounted and all! (I`ll attach a photo of the destroy…

Seems like I just finished restoring my 918 orange 1971 240Z and now I have another one to work on. This one however is a friends car and not mine personally. And coincidentally, this one is also 918 orange. They are virtual twins, although my friends is the series III 1971 while mine is an earlier Series II, so there are a few differences. The serial numbers are off by about 9000 units. Anyway, The car is in pretty reasonable shape and I think it would start with very little effort. It has not run for about 5 years so I definitely will need to go through the fuel lines eventually. The plan here is to document the restoration so that my friend can watch the…

About a year ago I installed new KYB struts and Vogtland lowering springs. The end result was the ride height I wanted but the the ride was harsh and I had a noise in the rear that I couldn't seem to determine the source. I did this work along with replacing all the bushings in the car and so I wasn't sure really what where the noise originated. I tried virtually everything to track down the cliunk that would occur during short sharp bumps. Today I installed a new set of Tokico struts and lowering springs, I got a great deal on the whole set-up so I thought what the heck, will give it a rip. Wow! What a difference! The ride quality is so much better and that …

Since I've owned this car (almost 50 years) the timing on the distributor has been very close but needs just a tad more. There isn't any more adjustment to turn it. Should I pull it out and set it back one tooth? Runs fine, but could be better. Thanks

I've watched the video, read the posts, searched the net and I just don't think I am doing it right. With car warm and idling, I stick my finger in the SU and raise the plunger and listen to the motor. Frankly, I can turn the nob either way a time or two and it doesn't seem to change at all. Is there a better way, or what should I be doing different?

I was leaving the Alameda antiques/collectables flea market and this was pulling in. It looked like such a great truck. I would love to see more of these early Japanese cars and trucks. I thought you guys would like this. Help me figure out what year and model it is. -Ben
