Factory Welt

I realize there are few choices regarding the door weatherstrip. My research indicates Kia or Precision seems to be about it. Has anyone found anything that allows you to still use the factory welt strip around the doors? I need to replace my weather strip but I would like to keep the factory welt strip if possible. The car is a 1970. Thanks Gary

I knew that installing my car lift would be a boon for really seeing the truth under my 240. For years, I've laid on concrete in the dark trying to get an accurate picture of its condition. What I was surprised to see in the light of day was the rear control arm on the passenger side oriented so that the 'concave' or 'recesses' are facing down. The drivers side rear control arm is oriented in the opposite fashion - facing up. Is this 'Datsun design' or a mechanic's Friday afternoon special? Passenger side (looking rearward): Driver's side (looking rearward):

Hi folks, I have a stock 1972 240z and the steering shaft is lightly rubbing against the drivers side motor mount. All suspension is relatively new, motor mounts were replaced, the rack and pinion was replaced with a rebuilt unit from CA. Datsun. Thanks for any ideas/suggestions.

I’m reinstalling the stock carburetors and air cleaner system on my 1972 240z. Does anyone have a picture of where all the air cleaner connections go. Not sure which ones I need and which ones can be caped. The car no longer has any smog equipment.

I am thinking about sourcing and installing an electric fuel pump. I had one on my car at one point but it was lost in the restoration. I believe that I have found an original pumb but cannot find a bracket. Does anyone have photos of the original upgrade kit or the bracket?

Hi all. I was recently offered this AM / 8-track stereo for my 240Z. I have a feeling it's pretty uncommon but: 1. What do you guys think it's worth? 2. Would it even be correct for a 240Z with the rectangular faceplate? Any info on these is appreciated.

This writing is not as technical as the majority of the content posted on forums. This is a personal account of my 260Z in a nutshell upto this point. If it were not for members of this forum my car would not be where it is today. Thus, I am very thankful. I hope that some of you get a laugh or some inspiration out of this story. You can also be critical of me as I am trying to hone my writing. Sometimes I just do not know what I am doing. I am spending a lot of money on my 260Z and there is no justifiable reason. Its money I have that I should be saving for the future or for my family, but strangely the car has called. The Z started as my co…

I made my first Yahoo Japan purchase today. I picked up (yet to get it obviously) a JDM Grill. It will need to be restored but overall in great condition. I have been wanting to pick one up for some time. I will post more once it arrives. http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/u182914369

At the risk of exposing more of my considerable ignorance, I would pose the following: Working with the well-known on-line parts manual, I have come up against an issue of production timing that has me confused, and I am hoping for some enlightenment from this forum. My puzzlement is centered around the period between the start of A/C in Aug ’73 and the end of the Air Pump in Aug. ’74 (dates as per diagrams… are these good?). Part I: Since both apparently occupied the same space (the front lower left side of the block), how were there Air Pump equipped cars provided with A/C? Part II: It is not apparent from the diagram for the Air Pump just how the 3-point br…

Today I had the very dubvirus "pleasure" of replacing the clutch master on the 71, The old one ( marked Nibco Japan and I believe it's the original, For a fact it wasn't replaced at least since the very early 90's )started leaking from the back. Picked one up from Oreillys and pulled the master out, compared the 2 and there is a significant length difference between the two.....the original is about 3/4 of an inch longer. So I need to swap the shafts.....but I got no snap ring pliers on hand, went to a local oil change shop and one of the techs graciously let me use his. Question is...is this a fluke or all the clutch masters sold today are like that?...wr…

I have seen stub axles and axle flanges in a couple of finishes recently. MSA has them for sale refurbished in yellow zinc. Should they be yellow zinc of semi gloss black?
