So after zKars posted his latest car it looks like an pre 1971 HLSUN-30, which made me start to wonder how many of these cars are still around. Please do not hold me to any of the numbers that I am about to put out there as some are from other sources and some guesses on my parts. So the production records show that 1201 cars where shipped to Canada in 1970. If we remove the HLSU -30 cars that were shipped to Ontario. We would come up with the number of pre 1971(non-emission)HLSUN-30 cars. As I cannot find any records showing the different sub-sets of imports I will use population ratios to guess. The population of Canada was 21.3 Million and the population of Ontario was…

I have an issue that I am wrestling with. I have a new to me one owner 73 240z. The color of the car is orange interior and cocoa outside. The car has significant sun damage so basically all plastic parts interior are broken or will break if you breathe hard on them. My goal is to clean the car up and sell it next year. In going to replace the plastics interior the only choices are black. My question to the group is, does the value of car change if I replace everything that’s plastic orange with black plastic? When I bought my 1973 240z in 1991, it had 72,000 miles. This weekend, after 26 yrs, I surpassed 172,000 miles in my Z (I wanted to pass the 100,000 mile mark in my Z, before I put it away for the winter). This got me wondering how many other Z owners have driven their Z car more than 100,000 miles? It also got me thinking about how my journey with my Z started (see pics below): The article that introduced me to the 240z: The Auto Trader ad that led me to my Z: A pic shortly after I bought my Z: A recent, and my favourite pic of my Z:

I picked up a 1972 240Z, originally white/red that I am slowly bringing back to life. I am not sure if I will keep the car, but I want to do it right. I have the original steel wheels for it, but they were left outside for some time and are rusty. I will take them to be sandblasted but am not sure of what to do next. Should I have them powdercoated (much more expensive) or just rattle can them when they are clean. What are you thoughts? Thanks!

New member here. Great site by the way....... Also I will test again this brake booster this weekend. A few days ago I rented the vacuum tool thingy from Autozone and tried to pull a vacuum on the old, looks original, brake booster. I did this first test with the brake master cylinder removed / unbolted from the booster on my work bench and got zero vacuum, needle did not move on the pump gun. Question........Did I do the test right or does the master cylinder need to be bolted on the booster to seal that hole with push rod etc up airtight? And if my brake booster is truly bad what are the options? Take it apart and try to fix if doable? Repair kit if I can find one?…

Howdy Folks, The original owner of my 280Z decided to replace the drivers side horn with a Sears brand air horn. While I don't mind how loud it is I would like to remount an original horn in that location. I am thinking that the mounting of the drivers side horn is the same as the one one the passengers side? (i.e. it uses a bracket with a bend). I know they changed the style of mounting brackets for the 77 / 78 model years such that they are straight without a bend. If someone could please post a picture here, that would be great. Also, I am trying to determine which was the High and which was the Low? Thanks! ~Matt

Would anyone care to address my interest in finding a pnp LSD replacement for my R-200 dif (that would hopefully not require replacing my axles and/or driveshaft)? What cars would be likely donors? What serial no.s should I look for? Any help is appreciated.

Cleaning up under hood. Trying to keep as complete and stock as possible. What goes in these two places? Clip along top of air cleaner top and a little port off the back of the air cleaner box. I'm guessing the holes along the top of the air cleaner cover do not belong there.

Both powered by L24 engines with triple Weber 40s. At the Nissan Challenge event yesterday. Taught some more modern Nissans a lesson. Come out and join us in 2018. We need more early Z cars!
