I'm sure this method has been used by others and this suggestion may go better in the Paint and Body Section. I just want to catch a lot of eyes with my suggestion. If you have a Heat Gun then give it a try on that black tar stuff that's stuck to the floor pans and other places. I can't get dry ice very easy and it's Sunday night to boot. I got my Wagner Heat Gun out and it worked really great at helping me remove that black tar coating in the passenger side floor pan area, etc . Heat gun, good lighting, couple of scrapers / putty knives and I had a big area clean in short order. Got me some cleaning to go but it got the majority of that hard tar removed. As a added bonus…

well, after weeks of working on it, i'm finally done. and you can reap the benefits of all my work! below i've made available my new, full-color version of the 1976 280z wiring diagram. it is vector-based, so it can be blown up as big as you'd like without losing legibility. the text is copyable and searchable. i will warn you, i'm 110% sure that there are errors. you get a gold star if you point them out to me. a wire or object in hot pink denotes that i'm not sure of the true color of the item. i'll post updated versions on this thread as needed, so look at the most recent reply for the newest download. enjoy! download here: http://sridout.com/datsun/76circuit_COLOR …

Hello, I wanted to post a build thread to document the process of my restoration. I have a 1975 280Z that I purchased off a local craigslist ad. Heres the ad. Ive wanted one of these cars since I was in high school and was looking for one that was in decent shape without too much rust and that was running. I went and looked at this one and thought it was in pretty good shape. It had a little rust but I was thinking most of it was surface rust. I took it for a test drive and instantly fell in love. I've sandblasted the black paint of my 280's wiper assembly. Looks to be stainless like the 240s. I just now thought to see if a magnet will stick. But anyway should I clear coat them or just wipe them with Never Dull wadding? I don't want them to rust. Thanks for any replies and sorry for jumping on here so quick. I'll try a magnet right now. Has anyone seen or experienced the Marchal 652 Driving Lamps? I know they were used on sportscars, "sporty cars," and Mustangs, etc. in the 1960s, and are now a bit pricey, but I have a chance to buy a pair. But before I spend money on what I may not be able to repair or replace (I don't even know what bulb they use) I'd like to get some informative opinions from people that I can trust. ThxZ.

Just purchased a replacement cable from Motorsport Auto and have a problem with the grommet that came assembled to it. It looks like they assembled the incorrect grommet. As you can see the new grommet is much larger. The hole is only 7/8” dia. The old grommet OD is 1-1/8” and the new one is 1-1/2”. I cannot squeeze the new one into the hole. They say this is the only way it comes. Has anyone else ordered and used this cable. If so, what did you do to get it to fit?

Les Canaday gave me a call yesterday. He let me know that he is selling my old HLS30 -00029 race car. A year or two ago I would have purchased it back, but I have taken a different direction in the past few months. If anyone is interested they should contact Les.

It also sold at a price that -- I think -- lies well above the curve (not that that's a bad thing). Almost $40,000!
