I am curious if anyone has seen this car in person to know what kind of shape it was in? It seemed unusual that there were such poor quality photos as if it had a lot to hide. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Datsun-Z-Series-/162699163067?hash=item25e1a035bb:g:nXUAAOSw3uBZuegM&vxp=mtr

Found a couple of balance tubes in the carb bin. Thought I would try my hand a welding alum. They turned out OK, but if you look close you can see the fill area as the wire I used must be a different alloy than the original alum.

Top lever pushed to the right (heat) and won't move back left. Unsuccessfully tried removing that panel. Anyone encountered this or could provide a solution? Many Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi, thanks for the add. I have come across a one owner, '78, ~40k miles, no rust, original paint, 5-speed, 280. No dents or dings. The paint looks like it will come back with some attention. Interior is original and mint. No fading or cracks. Stored inside its whole life. Not run or moved in the last 15 years. Sorry, I don't have any pics. It seems to be for sale, but not actively listed. Any ballpark's on what it might be worth. I can see Z's have been escalating recently, but the higher prices seem to be focused on the 240's vs. the 280's. If I can get it, I will need lots of advise on how to bring it back to life. Thanks!

Talking about getting caught in the rain or frequent washing. Will this promote rust on a rustfree S30? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hello! Any suggestions on what to use to clean years of paint over spray on my windshield washer reservoir without damaging the plastic? Thanks! Nick

Been a while since I've been here (again) - I have a potential bead on a 1972 Fairlady Z RHD, in nice shape. Low miles, looks to have been refreshed but not used much. I honestly have no idea of values, but I know there aren't a lot of RHD S30s in the states. What is the general feeling here? I'd love to get another Z, and this one looks really interesting to me.

My son and I want to clean up / simplify the engine compartment and entire dash on his '72 complete resto. We want to keep the rear drum system and e-brake, but get rid of the factory brake warning light system on the fire wall and the factory proportioning valve - install an Arizona Z proportioning or another aftermarket one. We're completely removing the dash and existing electrical so we don't have issues with warning lights. Any insight on the above reduction and simplification? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parking_brake thanks

got a 20t harbor freight press yesterday, put it together and wanted to try it out. I had a spare front control arm for my 75 Z, and had tried various other techniques with no success. This included a BFH and a some large sockets, then a large All rod to act as a puller, all I managed to do was muck up the inner race a bit, prob from the BFH to the socket. For the press attempt I found a large pipe that was used as a wrench on a hot water tank (used to remove the electrical heating element). the round end of that fit the outer part of the control arm. One of the issues is getting a good fit due to the welding around that area. you have to get something that fits…

Tail Gaters... 1 2 3 4

I've driven my stock 76 Z about 20 times since June, and it seems that I not only: 1) have many people stay far back from me 2) have many people tail gating me far too close Neither happens in my DD Tahoe. I have vanity plates "76 Z" mostly because our state plates are usually ugly. It is not an offensive message or anything. It really infuriates me, mostly since I know 240z bumpers are not worth anything protection wise. And I drive respectfully, not cutting people off or that sort of thing. Has anyone else noticed either item above? Sometimes I want to get out of the car and inform them of exactly the risk they ar…
