I just pulled a 72 240Z into the garage. It has been sitting for a few years, and I am trying to wake it up. I recall an article (perhaps by Carl Beck) detailing how to get a Z running after it has been sitting a while. After multiple searches, I cannot find it. If someone is familiar with that link or thread, can they point me to it? Thanks!

Today, September 13, 2017, is the 45th anniversary of my ownership of my Z-Car. If someone told me when I first bought the car that I would have it for 45 years I would have said “you’re nuts”! Most of what follows is copied from the similar thread that I started on the 40th anniversary ( http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/44418-me-my-z-40th-anniversary/?tab=comments#comment-402126 ) and updated to cover the past 5 years. This is the story of the car… I read the road test of the 240Z in the April 1970 issue of Road&Track magazine and recognized the car as a great value. Then, in 1971 I visited my brother down in Miami and he pulls up in a blue 1970 Z - so that…

Does anybody know off the top of their head if the connector on a 240Z for the electric fuel pump jumper is an MP2TN connector found at http://vintageconnections.com/ShoppingCart.htm If it is I can avoid cutting it off and installing my own connector. EDIT: Probably should have put this in Electrical

I just got a 74 260Z and she is at my house in PHX Az right now........It's been sitting in a south west Texas Garage since 1996.It has a almost 100% rust free body and complete original interior with Factory or dealer option A/C, wheels and rear window louvers. Still holding the original paint. I need to go through the fuel system, brake system and clutch just to make her run and drive again. I am really happy that I found such a rare early low Vin # 260Z.I just love the 240Z look with the 280Z controls.

My workplace, Metro Community College in Omaha, NE, has just finished the largest ever community college project in America: $100,000,000 project. One of the 4 new buildings is based on technology and prototype design. I've already asked the coordinator about what types of things we can do with it. We just received and installed: a CNC 5 axis milling machine (which can make engine blocks I hear), several plasma cutters, several laser cutters, grinders, welders, 3D printers, lathes, manual millers, a paint oven, and some things I don't even know what. There's a robot that walks around and does things you tell it to (within reason). Also a 3D scanner than scans th…

Hi everyone! My name is Mike Clifford, and my father and I run Michael's Vintage Racing. We work on mostly British cars at our shop, but Z-cars have always caught my attention at the track and I've kept one eye open in case something appeared at the right time. Luckily, that time has come! This is all new ground for me, but I've already got a list of things I'm excited to do to the car I've been reading up the past few days on Zs to familiarize myself, and I want to absorb as much information as I can ASAP. I've been reading about: Basic information Weak spots with race cars Differences between 240/260/280 cars If there's anywhere else I sho…

I'm considering a throttle cable upgrade and I'm soliciting input. I searched around a little and the ones I've seen attached to the throttle linkage in the engine compartment. That works fine, but has anyone gone whole hog all the way to the pedal? Has anyone connected the cable directly to the gas pedal and completely eliminated the stock linkage? (PS - I know this is a fuel related question and I put it in general. I didn't want to put it in the carbs or FI sub-forum, because what I'm looking into could pertain to either.

Time to rebuild the engine in my 72 240 Z. Thought someone may know of parts "check list" that has been created (with or w/o Nissan part numbers) for L24 engine rebuild? I am looking to acquire parts, and once all parts have been secured (checked off the list), THEN perform the rebuild. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I found this: https://baltimore.craigslist.org/pts/d/1970-datsun-240z/6275326454.html Some sick part of me wonders if I could save it. Is it worth saving? Of course I've had a couple beers. Think I should offer him $500 bucks and give it a go?

Hey guys, I'm about to bring the second (and last) batch of misc. hardware to the plater. What did you do with the plastic parts? Will they survive the plating process? Regards
