http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic16d/15-6211 Is listed for 71 - 72 cars. The same part for 70 cars is no longer available. My car is titled & registered as a 71, but was built 12/70. The parts appear to be the same, what's the difference and what serial # car would the 71 - 72 part start at?

Can someone help me locate a mechanic in the great lakes or midwest area for help with an engine rebuild? I am in Michigan but am willing to travel a bit for the right shop. Thanks

I put a Champion radiator in my car which includes a section for ATF cooling for those with automatic transmissions. I have a manual transmission so the ATF section still has the caps on it. Has anyone thought of using that for oil cooling in a standard transmission car. I figure you could use an oil cooler sandwich adapter and run the lines to the ATF cooling ports of the radiator and use it for oil cooling. Thoughts??

My new toy tool arrived yesterday and with the weather being crud I just thought I would try it. So, what I got was an Astro DS2000 door skin removal tool. Took 30 minutes max to strip the door skin off the 240z door with the flange fold still attached. Can't wait for the DS1000 door skin crimper to show to reinstall the skin once done. Plan is to bead blast the inside of door frame and back side of the door skin. Seal-paint and reinstall. Hopefully good for another 40 years. uploadfromtaptalk1498172594724uploadfromtaptalk1498172701625 Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Classic Zcar Club mobile

UPDATE: 2/14/15 After a rather long hiatus, the build returns with updates! As some of you may know, I decided to go with the professionals with this build. Looking at some local shops around my area, most notably Rebello Racing, and also some other shops across the country, I've decided to send my dear L28 out to Eiji Hosomi at Datsun Spirit Inc. (https://datsunspirit.com/) There are three main goals that I wanted my motor to achieve. 1. Speed > Power. I want my motor to run like a hot knife through butter. It needs to be quick and very responsive. Power is nice, but a quick revving motor is what I seek. 2. Character. My beloved Z will eventually be my …

Bring A Trailer has been a good reference for valuation and, at some point, they added a graph that makes tracking prior auctions easier: Select a model to get access: https://bringatrailer.com/datsun/

As described in my previous post I am now the proud owner of 1971 240z Series-1 #8011. The post can be seen here -> http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/open-s30-z-discussions/52517-its-mine-new-owner-1971-240z-8011-a.html This is the most complete 240z I have owned and has been the recipient of a lot of time and money in regards to both parts and labor. However, it is not 100% and has plenty of room for me to add my personal touch and tinker with it as it needs things. One of the first items on the to-do list was to remove the over rider bar on the front bumper. The reason for this is because the hood was making contact with it and it was keeping the hood from op…

Hello everyone, my name is Johnny and I recently bought my first 240z and car at the same time. The body had now rust like the P/O said but the wiring harness was slaughtered and the car wouldn't even turn over. Here are some pictures of when I went to purchase the car. This was the state of the wiring as received with the car More to come on the fuel system and brake lines and body work. -Johnny Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Classic Zcar Club mobile
