I am having problems pushing speedo gear body back into back into the gear housing in the back of the 5 spd tranny. I replaced the cable with a new one because the former owner decided to hook a laptop to an electronic gear body that didn't work the mechanical speedo. The speedometer is the original to the car and requires a cable. The transmission was a swap from a 82 ZX. The former owner did, however furnish me with a correct speedo gear/body that came off this tranny. I put the two bodies and gears side by side and noticed no difference in the gear body and gear. The slot is on the correct side of the offset. The problem is that the electronic gear body pushes in fart…

Just got my September Road & Track in the mail today. They have a three-page feature on the original 240Zs. Nothing really new for most of us, but great to see our car back in the news.

For the last year I have been thinking off and on about selling my 70, Vin #4213. It is excellent driver quality, I have put over 4,000 miles on it the last 4 summers, it has never left me stranded. For the last 8 months I have been chasing down an electrical problem. I have been through 2 alternators, a battery, voltage regulator and wire tracing. Still only putting out 11 amps. I also have a super nice 75, one owner til me, 71,000 mile car with blue tooth, cold a/c and a 5 spd. Long story short, I have watched Ebay, Craigslist and Bring a trailer trying to figure out what my very nice 60,000 mile 2 owner 70 with a SUNROOF was worth. Well, last Sunday, I had 2 men come …

Greetings - new member here. I realize this is like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack, but I'm on a search for a 260Z my Dad had way back when. Any tips or ideas on how I might go about tracking it down? I do have the VIN, and it would have been titled and registered in Ohio (Warren county) in the late 80s/early 90s. VIN is RLS30041502. I've also posted the only pic I have of it, though it's mostly in the background. Still, it shows the original color, and the interior was a dark tan/light brown as I recall. Look forward to any guidance any of you might have. -Thanks

I'll be working in Nedonna, Oregon for a couple of weeks, I may have some time off to travel within a few hours so if anyone wants to meet up, turn wrenches, eat food, I'm game. Philip

I don't understand how the door welting and weatherstrip attach. The position of them. The welting is squeezed on and the W/S is glued on, but how. Can't find anything to help me. Can someone take a pic or draw a pic of how they go. Thank you very much.
