I thought of instead of just searching for individual threads, I would put a catch all thread up in general. Here is a link to my flickr album with all my ZCON stuff loaded. https://www.flickr.com/photos/sdamico/albums/72157682607635543

Greetings fellow Z enthusiasts! I just picked up a very very rough Z (which will go to the scrap yard), but it came with a supposedly built L24 with a draw through carb turbo setup. In my internet search, I found something similar, made by Crown many years ago. What I have is very similar, but the log manifold that connects the two carb manifolds is different, and looks custom made, also, very nice piece despite all the rust. The guy I bought the car from said the previous owner had about $9k worth of engine work done, I won't know until I pull the engine out and get it checked out. What I found interesting about this whole setup was the use of pipe fittings and…

My 240z is currently running a 5 speed instead of the 4 speed trans and i was wondering if anyone ever had the issue where the shifter hits the top of the cente console when shifting up, if so what kind of modifications did you do to fix it or can i modify the shifter itself? I had tried to use my front turn signals as white DRLs when placing the light switch in the first position AND amber turn signals when needed. JDMAstar sells LED bulbs with the stock 1157 base that fit right in the housings and are advertised to do exactly what I wanted (they're called "switchback" bulbs because of the 2 functions). They worked erratically, with the turn signal activating spontaneously now and then so I pulled those out and went back to simple amber LEDs with the OEM amber lens with the stock functions. Then I found Zleds. Samuel makes LED boards which go from very simple to very complex programmable units that do all kinds of funky stuff. I just wan…

Hi everybody Lance here. I've been in Japan recently and visited Kameari's shop. Got my wallet empty and time to go back. They have a couple of parts like the 2400 valve cover and JDM taillight for sale. I've never seen some of the parts in the US. Overall a nice trip spotting tons of awesome cars! I'm not sure if anyone want me to do a write up about where did I go... I kinda feeling like doing one. Tons of pictures and Japan definitely have a interesting culture. I posted a thread about a year ago. But I can't find it anymore. Well I was even stupider than I am now so let me just start a new one and keep this one alive. Anyway for those who don't know I'm 16 and bought a late 1971 240z with a L28 bottom end and a 73 e88 head. Now I have rebuilt the motor with a e31 head, new valvetrain, high lift cam but not long duration. Bottom end remains stock with flat top pistons. Twin SU carb bored by rebello, Zstory header and muffler, 2.5in exhaust with a resonator and a cutout right behind it. I'm still working on rewiring the car but I have put a AFR gauge in where the clock was and a knock sensor will be in the map light slot. A tenon …

I don't want to bash, but does anyone think the price is a little steep? https://classiccars.com/listings/view/994526/1973-datsun-240z-for-sale-in-ruskin-florida-33570 There was another '73 listed on that site for $40K. Do people really get those prices or are they trolling for suckers?

Brian passed away last night in his home in Auckland surrounded by his family. He was a good friend and mentor to some here. He was very knowledgeable about 240 Zeds and was very willing to share that knowledge and to help anyone who asked. We met on this site and when we traveled to New Zealand in 2011 he and his wife, Sheryl, welcomed us with open arms. I'll never forget the luncheon given to us by the New Zealand Z Car Club organized by Brian or the personal tour around Auckland. He was a gentle true spirit and I will miss him very much. He is finally pain-free. He had fought prostate cancer, heart problems and injuries from a construction accident which damaged his s…

Hey guys I'm looking into options for motor swaps or info on making more power out of my motor. 77 280z n/a I've heard you can modify the l28 but limitations are the strength of the motor with power If I went l28et it's stronger and I can get a 5 speed but limitations come in with the computer I've considered sr20 rb20 and 2jz, I've also looked at ls1 but I'm trying to keep inline 6 if I can. My ultimate goal is a motor that I can get 250-300 hp and 300-350 torque out of and that I can turbo to get there or without. Any help is appreciated, what do you guys think is the best power for the money or ideas. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
