So, first post. Tried searching and couldnt find anything, even tried the all magical, Google, and still came up pretty empty handed. Ive been having an issue recently with my Z dieing while driving under normal conditions. However, I can put it in neutral, and about a 30-40 seconds worth of turning the key gets it fire back up. I have started with the easy and cheap stuff first. I replaced both the positive and negative battery cables and cleaned and checked the ground wire. Then I replaced the in line fuel filter that is before the electronic fuel pump, which was very needed. It was running the best it ever was, I let it sit in my driveway and run for half an hour to ma…

Hi All, RedBird has a problem I'm at a loss to know what it is. I need you all once again. She started out having some change in engine sound at the very top end in 4th gear. It sounded like she was under a lot of overload, this would happen if I used the pedal for a little more gas. Then it started happening in 3rd gear, when it happens, there is no increase in power, and the rumble sound is accompanied with a small vibration. As of now, she goes right into that event right after getting into 3rd or 4th, when applying gas to move on up to proper speed. As of Sunday something new. Just driving along at 55 and the engine quits. No gas pedal, no sound, just coas…

I was in deep thought the other day after watching and reading Sweaty's build and a thought occurred to me, I have had my 240 23 years. WOW!!!! Without being too wordy it was in the back lot of Redondo Beach Z World on a mechanics' hold. I had an 82 ZX that had the engine rebuilt there although at rebuild time it as in better shape than I thought. So I went in one day to check on progress and he let me wander around in his back lot. There it was, hadn't been driven in over 7 years but it was complete. Not a single body part was missing and the interior was complete. I made him an offer of 2K and he accepted. This was the summer of 1994. I always wanted an S30 but had no i…

1972 240z My gauges are not working properly anymore, either due to wiring or due to calibration issues. What gauges do you recommend/use? Tried some $70 set from napa but it wouldn't fit right. I saw on thezstore.com they had some gauges but they were like $400 for fuel, temp, and oil pressure. I would prefer black or white faces and that they light up. Thanks guys.

Hey guys, I was doing some research on the original owner of my friend's '73. He bought the car in 1981 from the Nissan dealer in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The dealer told him he was the second owner of the car. The car was originally purchased at Dependable Dodge Datsun in Lafayette, Louisiana by Murphy J. Foster III of Franklin, LA. A Google search quickly revealed the 53rd governor of Louisiana was Murphy "Mike" J. Foster III from Franklin, LA. He served as governor from 1996 to 2004: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murphy_J._Foster_Jr. Governor Foster typically went by "Jr." but technically he was a III. It appears he may have a son who goes by Murphy Foster II…
