I rebuilt my entire suspension about 8 months ago, I used the prothane bushings throughout. At the same time I replaced my struts with KYB's and installed lowering springs. The car has a slight clunk in the rear when I hit small sharpe bumps, a good example would be small traffic markers. I have double checked every nut and bolt and they are torqued to spec. The lowering springs do not seat into the perch's until the car is loaded and I am wondering if that might be the source of the clunk. I did zip tie the springs to the lower perchs but that didn't help. The cars suspension was original and had a lot of noises to start with so I'm not certain if this …

I haven't been able to post on all the z forums I think this is the last one lol. I picked up a 1972 240z with Jim Cook Racing California Z body kit on it. This car was completely restored in 1981 by the first owner, I picked it up from the second owner who drove it from 83-93 and left it garaged since. I vacuumed out the rats nest, gave her a good wash today after 25 years of dust, did an oil change(so black and reeked of gas) wiped down all surfaces from rat pee, and treated the battery tray with acid treatment and painted it since it's empty and only surface rust currently.

I have one (1) 'Intake Manifold Thermostat' in my parts bin (PN 14100-E8850). As you probably know, this valve is NLA from Nissan and appears to be NLA from all the Z specialty suppliers too. Its job is to control the flow of coolant through the intake manifold heating cavities (which also duct out to the carb bodies for 1972-73 models). I expect that it's arranged to work the opposite of the regular coolant thermostat: i.e. it operates open when cold, then closes off flow once the coolant heats up). According to the Parts Manual, they were fitted to the Z engines right up until July 1973. I want to fit my parts bin unit to my '70 (which arrived with the man…

Hey guys...I "rebuilt" my Nikki fuel pump yesterday...maybe I cheated a little bit. I had the original Nikki pump from my '72 and realized why it was replaced...very weak springs in the lower part of the pump...the engine would not go past 3,500 rpm with that pump installed (the pump lever and diaphragm springs were weak and wouldn't pull enough fuel through the pump). I searched for an NOS rebuild kit for the pump, but came up empty. I then began looking on Ebay for a similar pump and found one for a 1962-68 4 cylinder. It had the same part number on the lower assembly as mine, the same pump lever, and the same size fuel bowl top. The only major difference was the positi…

Ok, knowing the wealth of information have to ask for thoughts about whether the a.c. unit from a 74 260Z will fit? I have an opportunity to purchase an entire a.c. unit that includes control panel, blower box. Only things not include is the dash pad and center console. I have till tomorrow to make the call. Thanks for you input. Newtonhubcap aka Wayne Sent from my SM-G930V using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Hi all, Brian has been a member here and has been a part of a discussion lately. I have just had an email from his wife, Sheryl, and he is in hospital recovering from hip replacement surgery. His cancer pain there was so bad there was no other choice even with his wonkey heart. It will be touch and go for a while. I'm sure he would love to hear from his old pals here. schoubs@hotmail.com. Cheers, Mike

This car has been in the family for about 10 years now and it's been sitting in the yard since 2007. I finally got around to working on it. Pulled it into the shop a couple days ago to find that it's extremely solid. More updates to come!!!. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

To all of you that are planning to attend ZCON in Austin this year, I am strongly considering putting together a local drive and would like to get some idea as to how many people / cars might be interested in joining in on this. The drive I am considering is one that I've led numerous times as part of our local club events and it seems like the best day to do this would be on Thursday. The drive is not super long, only about 80 miles or so to the destination and then about the same distance back to the hotel. The destination is a local steak restaurant call Murphys in a really small town called Winchester. There are some great driving roads getting out there and s…

I am planning on heading out in the AM on the 20th from League city. Figure it will take a good 4 hours to get their. Will be going with a buddy of mine who just got his 280Z on the road. This will be his shake down cruise! I will probably leave between 9 and 10 am. This is the route I plan on taking...Pending traffic.

Has anyone here ever removed the emissions mess above the intake manifold on their L24? There is no emissions required for cars older than 30 years in my state, and I love the look of my engine bay save the emissions vacuum line maze. What do you think?
