I'm torn if I should keep racking up the miles on my Z. I have a late '70 with just 108K miles, everything original (clutch and engine). A clean non-rusted car with zero accident history. I recently installed BRIDE bucket seats and boy does the car come alive. I had a hard time cornering cause I would slide around in the seat. Now with the proper seating position, spirited driving is so much more rewarding. Regardless, wanted forum members view on this subject. Do you drive it or is it a garage queen? What's everyone est annual avg miles? I plan to drive it to the MSA meet in April, I better lay off the miles until then.

while performing the tuning of my su carbs i noticed a black metal tube that goes underneath and between both carbs. I believe this metal tube was originally connected to one of the down exits of the air filter orange box. Is it worth removing or is it doing something there? Could it be a source of heat transmission and add up to the heat soak problem during traffic jams? I see the black paint is peeled and does not look good!

Howdy, The original owner of my 76 280Z replaced the drivers side horn with a Sears air-horn. I'd picked up a few horns, before realizing there are differences (more so than just High and Low). That being said I snagged a horn and bracket for an early 280Z while I was down in Carlisle PA at the show. I got it home and started reading the past posts on horn identification. I've been able to find information on how to identify a horn for a 240Z, but nothing for identifying ones for the 280Z. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! ~Matt

Trying to remove the head of my n42/n42 the bolt circled in green snapped on me with one thread showing on the piece removed. Which means it should be below the block surface and not preventing me from removing the head, right? The bolt with the blue arrow felt as though it was cross threaded all the way in, and now that I have it backed out as far as it will go it just continues to spin. Ive tried prying up on it while turning it, ive tried tightening it again, ive tried beating on it in frustration...right now I have vice grips on it trying to pull it out. I dont know if they put a long bolt in a short hole and it mushroomed out on thebottom and is preventing me from ge…

Hi all, I'm from France and I'm interested in a Datsun 240Z that has been imported from the US in the year 2016. I know it could be crazy but I would like if someone in this big community could have informations about this Z. The VIN number is HLS3028417. It is a 71' Z. The plate number is 2SRX221 and the previous owner was from San Jose (CA). The car has the signature of Yoshihiko Matsuo on the passenger sunvisor if it can help. Here are some pictures of the car . Any help or advice welcome. Thank you

After 4 years, it has come time to move on to another project and so my Series I AT is up for sale. http://www.streetsideclassics.com/vehicles/0859-tpa/1970-datsun-240z The consignment shop hasn't put all the details of the car on their listing yet, so let me list some particulars here. Built in December 1970, it is a true Series I car but was titled in '71 and is a rust free matching numbers car with Vintage Air AC. I have reconditioned the drive train from stem to stern. Engine was overhauled about 5,000 miles ago including rings, bearings, seals, timing gear, oil pump, OEM cam shaft and starter. Engine uses no oil and pulls full compression and mani…
