Hi all. Really getting excited, after 6 years without driving my 280z, I'm set to be back on the road in June. After a rod went through my block back in 2011, I found a used 280z engine and installed it myself, something I'd never done before. (Rear main oil seal leaked a lot and ran out of oil after a long cruise....) Thanks to these forums, which helped me a lot! Not a huge issue, but an annoying one: My license plate lamps are too bright! I have the 240z bumpers on, and it illuminates the whole road on the rear. They are just stock replacement bulbs (194 I believe). Other cars have the plate lamps pointed more directly at the plate, ours just poin…

Are there Z mirrors without the toggle switches like the one in the pictures, or are these from a different car?

I am attempting to remove the intake from my 1977 280z. There appears to be only 4 bolts that hold it in place, the service manual confirms this but I can't seem to get it to budge. I did some searching and found a thread about a similar situation but it was a 1976. They were saying there was two hidden bolts on the bottom. I assume that was specific to the 1975-76? Any input is appreaciated!

Ends tomorrow. May 11th. Seems nice. I just don't like that interior color with that green. High miles too. http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-datsun-240z-27/

I am currently restoring my 1970 240Z. I contacted "JUST DASHES"(to completely restore my cracked dashboard) in Van Nuys. But there is a problem. I must arrange to have my dashboard removed so that I can deliver it to their shop. I do not have the skills. One mobile "expert said that he would remove and replace the dash for $900 plus. But, he will not guarantee that gauges will work after reinstalling the dashboard, because the old wiring and connectors may break, the result of being old and brittle. My two part question is: Does anyone know of an electrical specialist who can remove and replace the dashboard AND repair any broken wires/connections th…

I've always put the BP6ES plugs in my cars. I did the ZX distributor swap on my 240, '79 ZX dizzy and coil and just widened the gap. Now I'm bored and go to NGK's website to see what's recommended for the '79 ZX. They say BPR5ES so I went to a couple of parts stores online and they say the same thing and have them on the shelves, the 6s have to be "shipped to home, non stocking item" Please advise!!! Seriously, anybody have any advice/experience for this?

I have a small collection of Gas Cap Assemblies. The early one is off of the 00029 car. Does anyone know when the handled / chained gas cap replace the early gas cap?
