My brother recently passed away and I am tasked with selling his beloved 240Z-"Punkin" I am hoping that someone can help me approximate the value and provide some tips on best to sell it. It's a 1973-orange-240Z Manual Transmission. Brand new engine-0 miles. I suspect my brother had planned to drive this for a very long time. I have all the receipts for repairs done over the last few years. just detailed. So,what other information would be helpful? Thank you for your help. paula

I've had a couple of the front headlight holders soaking in vinegar to remove rust. The material around the rear part of the main body has delaminated. I'm wondering if the coating was to protect them from rust and or contain heat within the housing? I'm planning on using Eastwoods rust conversion to seal it and then paint them.. Re looking at them I think its undercoating. Can anyone confirm this.

Hi everyone, Today I am asking everyone about very rare 240Z emblems. Earliest 240Z owner(like 1969)may already know, quater emblems and a rear deck emblem "240Z" are different from later ones. The letter "Z" is in chrome plated not painted white inlay. I did not know about this first,my friend Jeff told me recently. He also showed the rare emblems in degital photos, they are available on my website at http://www.geocities.jp/datsunz903/ A week ago,I happend to see this in japanese yahoo auction and no other japanese Z owner was interested in it,I got it. I know the earliest 240Z got this chrome "Z" emblem, according to the first sales brochure's top page in the U.S…

While at the WCN I stopped at the Motul vendor. My car runs hot according to the temp gauge most all of the time. By hot I see the gauge at about 1/3 of the way to hot from mid line. It has always run here since I owned the car. When in traffic or on a hot day it goes to about a little over half the way to hot from midline, maybe a hair more than that. I have the original two core radiator. I run antifreeze. The guy at Motul gave me a product named Mo Cool. He said this would help. He advised that I drain the cooling system, use no antifreeze and use enough of the Mo Cool to give the cooling system a 5% solution of this product. He further said that I could just a…

Well, picked the car up today - backstory can be found here. 1977 280z built 3/77. Need to figure out a plan, but after going through the car for 2 hours I'm cautiously optimistic. The car is rougher than I remember, but it is 40 years old. Paint is just ok - some parts were resprayed but poorly. Found out it got scratched up in the garage during hurricane Andrew. Could not find any heavy bondo magnet and tapping Fires right up, cold compression (6->1) is 130, 140, 140, 133, 135, 137, 135 Underside, frame rails and floor pans look perfect. It was coated years ago and did its job only a few small areas of surface rust such as by radi…

Recovering from shoulder surgery is sooo boring - what to do? A new shift knob! I've wanted to replace my black rubber pistol grip with a wood knob, but couldn't find anything I liked. I like things a bit unique so I just couldn't go for the standard wood blank. So after digging around online I found an eBay seller who hand made a laminated birch knob with a brass insert - to give it some heft. I hemmed and hawed, but finally plunked down the $100, pretty steep but as an artist myself I appreciate hand crafted over 'manufactured', and am willing to pay more for it. After all, the knob and steering wheel are the centerpiece of any interior, IMO. I'd like to or…

Is there anyone on here from the Dallas area who could take a look at a car in that area that I am looking at? Last minute, but just found it and I do not want to make a 15 hr each way trip if it is not what it is advertised as. I will be out today and away from the computer so a call would be appreciated. 765-993-3634. Thanks JLP
