Remember the engine and drive train vibrations in early 240z road testing in USA/Canada. Well Honda has it in their 2017 F1 cars: "We did some good progress in the mono-cylinder on the dyno, but as soon as we complete the V6 engine we had many issues. "What we achieved in mono-cylinder is at a very good level, but when we transfer exactly the same specification to the V6 engine it doesn't work. We are very disappointed. But it was too late that we noticed that – at Christmas. "After we understand the issues this was the time we need to confirm the final specification - we needed to have some compromise." Honda has encountered …

going to share my rack re-build here for anyone that is interested first I disassembled the rack, ( well documented in the FSM and here ) , then I assessed the condition of all the major pieces 1) the inner tire rods were good and tight with no real play 2) the rack end bushings were mixed , the drivers side showed significant play, but the passenger side was tight. 3) the pinion bearings were shot, in fact the housing was partially full of water so then I tried to source parts, the standards stuff was available, I ordered rack mount bushings ( rubber ) , bellows, and outer tie rods. however the internal parts, end bushings and bearings …

Not sure if I want to go this route or not, but where can we find reasonably priced rubber replacement strips for the old chrome bumpers? I may just buy the Futofabs in the end, but I have a decent set of old style bumpers already, they just need either new rubber or welding up and rechroming...

I just finished refreshing my air cleaner. I am ok with the results, could have been better. I will probably start over next winter.

today, I was about to glue the firewall insulator to the inside of the car i'm restoring, and I noticed that on one of the cars, looking from the engine bay... the rubber insulators that go around the hoses for the heater core have the cone facing outward pointing towards the front of the car. And on another one that i took apart, the cone is facing inward. These are the items I'm referring to: does the pictured face of these grommets face the engine bay, or face the interior? Another photo:

An antique dealer friend contacted me saying he had something that I might be interested in. I have told him, in the past, to look for Datsun dealership signs etc... I do not know what to think of what he had found, they are Warranty book covers only. I did buy them from him along with some old Datsun window sticker sheets, and paid more than I should have . I went by the philosophy of American Pickers when you see something you have not seen before buy it. The window sticker sheets were on traction feed perforated paper he had torn them apart for easier stacking. I have attached a copy of the warranty book cover.
