Hey guys, I finally got my 1978 Datsun Running. If youve been following my problem in the fuel injection section, you should know that this car has already been a headache. Anyways. This car was a 5 speed swap. Not sure if out of a ZX or just a Z. Ive got a 5 gallon bucket of 80-90w gear oil sitting in front of me, will this work? Ive read about GL4 and other weights, but this stuff is free and works good (My stepdad owns 15 tractors and this is all he ever uses). Ive read that you can use 80-90w, but I didnt know if there was a difference between the ZX and Z trannys as I dont know which this is. Thanks

At one time, I had a rally clock in my car and over time removed it and really did not know the uniqueness of it until reading about them on this site. I would like to see, like I do with any new project, if I can find some working or non-working parts and pieces and restore a working example to put back in my Z. This is one currently on Yahoo Japan, opening bid very high, wires cut, and I have tons of the other gauges. But they are out there.

Just signed up to the forum. I'm starting to look to buy a 240z and would like some advice of what to look for. I bought a brand new 1971 240Z in Okinawa in the spring of 1971 for $2950.00, no sales tax, and had it shipped to the US for $125.00. My girlfriend ended up with the car way back then. I lost track of her and the car. I'd like to find the car.. Well maybe not that car but a similar one. What does a "series one" refer to? I came across that term recently in my search.

Picked up a dirt cheap 76 280z runner/driver. Always liked these cars so why not add another project to the pile. Needs some body work, but i'm not going for show car. this will end up just being a cool looking driver. I will be making or buying some new frame rails as one is pretty much toast. Also do the floor pans at the same time. Have the stock tank out, was all bashed in and not too clean. So I will be dropping in a fuel cell in place of the spare tire. Just trying to have fun with this build so there will be some different ideas and creative touches along the way. Tube bumpers, D-ring tow hooks, rear diffuser, turnbuckle style wing and splitter etc. Came with 4 new…

Hi everyone, I know I haven't been here for ages -- about 18 months now, I believe. As some of you know, life has jumped up and bit me in the rear. My partner is dealing with some serious medical issues, we've been downsizing, and I no longer have any time for my '78 Z. We have two fun cars, and the other is a 1st gen Miata. Convertibles aren't really my thing, but my partner really loves that car and hates hardtops. So between the Z and the Miata, it's always the Miata we take for a drive, while my baby sits in the garage unloved. And now that we are downsizing, one of the two cars has to go. It's entirely my decision, because my partner understands how much …

Hello Everyone - New Member here... look forward to getting to know everyone here and hopefully I can provide some helpful info instead of only inquiring about it. my new Z was delivered tonight... i flew to Arizona last weekend to inspect it and finalize the purchase. I can't explain how or why i became obsessed with Z's as a 15 year old looking for his first car, but the fact they were cheaper, looked badass, were quick, and no one else had one had me sold! my father also sold Nissan's in the early 90's (sold quite a few Twin Turbo 300ZX's while he was at it) - so he was kind of in my ear about these Z cars.. we bought a beautiful 1983 280ZXT - 5 speed …

Here is a pic of the intake manifold on my engine, I would like to install a vacuum manifold/balance tube so I can take advantage of the vacuum advance feature on the new dizzy. Would 4 vacuum take offs from the 4 inner intake runners be enough to even out the pulses or should I take vacuum from all 6 ? Thanks, Chris

I wanted to upgrade my bushings, struts, springs, etc.... This is what my car liiks a few short days later. I'm pretty decent at tearing things apart.... I don't always remember exactly how they go back together. I need to clean all parts and I am going to use a self ething primer, 2 or 3 coats of black semi gloss and then clear coat everything. I really want this car to turn out nice. I am upgrading to a 5 spd, I had blue tooth installed and my a/c blows ice cold. After spending this summer trying to maintain a Triumph, 2 Datsuns and a race car I think I just want one nice classic car with some modern day upgrades. (Maybe the Spitfire helped me get to this point, it left …
